Great restaurant with hardworking and genuinely kind staff. One of the things I appreciated most is that you can actually see how the food is prepared — everything looked clean and well organized, including the oil they use.
I ordered the picanha sandwich and it was hands down the best decision I made that day. The flavor truly took me back to Argentina — authentic, rich, and perfectly cooked.
It may be a bit on the pricier side, but it’s absolutely worth every penny. Quality like this speaks for itself. I’ll definitely be coming back to explore more of the menu.

The cashier was super friendly.
You will have to hope to find seating inside or outside of the market. And the market could get busy.
The food has good flavor though I can attest the authenticity, but the picanha is more like jerky than the Brazilian picanha.

I’ve been looking for authentic Argentinian food ever since I moved to the U.S., and I finally found it at ASADO Gaucho in the Liberty Station Market! Everything on the menu is delicious, but my absolute favorite is the chicken milanesa sandwich and choripan!— it’s just like home. They even offer catering, which is a huge plus. Let’s go, Asado Gaucho!

Absolutely banger picanha sandwich on some delicious ciabatta bread. The sandwiches do not come with fries, and you must order separately.

I recently visited Asado Gaucho in La Jolla, and I have to say, the sandwich I had was absolutely phenomenal. The meat was tender and flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and the bread was fresh and crispy. What truly elevated the experience was the chimichurri—vibrant, tangy, and just the right amount of kick. Every bite felt like a little taste of Argentina. The atmosphere and the service were also top-notch, making it a memorable visit. I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes!

We heard about Asado Gaucho through an Instagram review. We both had the Chimichurri Tri Tip sandwich and it was excellent. The flavor profile was on point and the ingredients work very well together. This is a spot I wish we learned about sooner but with that being said we will definitely be back again. We will try the Gaucho Sampler next as that looked really good as well.

I got the chimichurri Tri-tip sandwich. I was excited to try this place but unfortunately, It was underwhelming. The sandwich was dry. The customer service was probably one of the worst I have had in a while. When I let one of the employees know, he told me I could buy sauce and walked away. I had already paid over $22 for single sandwich with tip! I will definitely not be going back!

The meat was good, the bread was dry. No sauce or flavor in the sandwich aside from the meat. $20 for a small sandwich, not as filling as the pictures make it seam. I felt ripped off. On top of that the girl working the register does not smile say thank you, nothing. dry service. won’t be back.

pretty good – meat is very tender. the bread is really good. the wait is very long and in between orders the cashier was idly wiping down counter spaces and waiting for orders to be picked up. there were at least three people who left the line because it was just taking too long. you could also see some raw meat thawing/sitting in the back, which was a bit concerning. i think if they work on some of the rough edges they’ll be a great spot.
also $7 for a small side of fries from a bag is insane. that should be $4 max.
