Stopped at Asada Mexican Grill to meet a friend while traveling Chicago. This spacious halal restaurant has a cozy, inviting, upscale feel. We had loaded chicken nacho, shrimp quesadilla, fish tacos. My daughter had kids meal that included cheese quesadilla and a drink. Food was fresh and tasty. The red salsa was little hot for my taste but my husband loved it. Over all we had a wonderful experience. Owner was very friendly.

We got their Beef Tacos, Chicken and Steak Bowl, and let me tell you this place is Mid at best, they really need to step up their game and improve quality of their food and increase portion sizes, the bowl barely had any rice and the rice that was there wasn’t cooked properly! However the customer service was really nice, the place was well maintained and lively. I would like to visit again, hopefully they can improve

They have halal meats, and I was surprised (in a good way) to see kulfi on the menu too. Turns out the owner is from Bangladesh, so the place blends Mexican flavors with some Indian/Bangladeshi touches — it’s a unique combo you don’t see every day.
The only downside is the location. It’s kind of tucked away and wraps around the building, so it’s easy to miss. We went on a Tuesday night and it was pretty quiet, even though other nearby spots were jam-packed. Honestly, if they were in a more visible spot, I think they’d get way more traffic.
That said, the space itself is really nice. Great decor, a good variety of seating, and you can tell they put thought into the layout and overall vibe. I’d definitely come back and I hope more people find it.

Excellent quality Mexican food! Highly recommend. All halal, similar to their downtown loop location but with many more expanded menu options! Locally owned, not another franchise, the owner takes great pride in the cleanliness and quality of his restaurant. This location has a lot of space for larger gatherings, and he also has pretty good chai! Will be coming here more often with my family.

The person who took our order was friendly and patient with my family. She asked thoughtful questions like, “Would the onions and veggies be alright in the kids quesadillas?” It was not necessary and may be a small gesture but showed attention to detail and care, like even the kids should be content.
We ordered two sets of birria tacos, a barbacoa burrito, chicken bowl, steak fajitas, a bunch of Jarritos and kids meals (quesadilla and hot dog). Everything was delicious, but the birria tacos were next level and honestly some of the best I’ve had. My picky child, who only eats really good birria, devoured his. All the meats were fresh, tender, and flavorful. We needed the sauces and they were both pretty good too.
After we placed our order, I saw my my mother in law eyeing the mango juice drink. I went to go get cash so I don’t cause credit card fees for the small order, but got distracted by my kids. Just a few minutes later one of the workers brought it out for us on the house. They also gave us extra juice boxes on the house for the kids. Such a sweet and thoughtful gesture.
But yes, amazing food, kind people, and a really welcoming vibe. Definitely recommend and will be coming back.

Not only was the steak bowl and Barbacoa bowl delicious fresh and filling but also the hospitality, kindness, and oversight from the whole team is second to none. We came here in Ramadan and they prepared the food in very short notice to help us open our fast on time and even gave us complimentary horchata and mango drink to try which were amazing. Beautiful place run by wonderful people.

We have ordered from Asada multiple times and it has been fantastic and moderately priced every single time. I highly recommend the spicy fish platter. You get a great amount of tasty food for a great price. The interior is bright and clean and feels very comfortable even if you’re just dropping in for carry-out. We’ve had the same quality of food whether we get carry-out on our own or from a delivery service – always fantastic. The counter service is very friendly, as well.

This new Halal spot has chic decor. We loved the loaded nachos. Note that one plate can easily feed 2 people so it’s really good portion sizes if you’re on a budget. There’s ample parking and several types of seating, including booths, as well as both high and regular tables. Bathrooms are all gender, individual rooms. Decor is a really nice fusion of Mexican and Asian influence.

The best part? All their meat is Zabiha Halal! You can absolutely tell they use fresh ingredients—everything I tried was delicious. I indulged in their tacos, nachos, and burritos, and every single item was yummy. Hands down, this is one of the best Mexican meals I’ve ever had. You must try it!

This place has only been open about one month. We tried it for lunch mid-week, it wasn’t too crowded. Food was amazing, and definitely competitively priced, especially for the amount of food you get! The meat is all halal, and all veggies and chips were fresh! Hope this place does well! Love the Chicago skyline theme in tile on their walls too 🙂
