ASA – Al Furat is hands down one of the best spots in Springfield. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with genuine hospitality and a warm, family-style atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
The food is absolutely incredible — fresh, flavorful, and cooked with obvious care and authenticity. Every dish is seasoned perfectly, portions are generous, and you can truly taste the quality in every bite. Whether you’re familiar with Middle Eastern cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place does not disappoint.
The staff is friendly, attentive, and always willing to explain menu items or make recommendations. Service is fast without feeling rushed, and everything is consistently clean and well-organized.
If you’re in Springfield and looking for amazing food, great service, and an authentic experience, ASA – Al Furat is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone I know.

My boyfriend and I have been here twice now. The first time we got a sample plate of their baklava, the kunafa and the Jeqlitiya coffee. The coffee alone is worth going for! Their chocolate baklava was my personal favorite. The second time around we also tried the toast sandwich and the dates in sesame seeds. Im not the biggest date lover, but i would definitely eat those again. The sandwich was very simple, but good. I really enjoyed the bread they use. We will definitely be regulars here.

This place is a new favorite of mine! The baked goods I’ve had so far are very tasty and always leave me wanting more. It’s always a pleasure to speak to the owner, she’s always so wonderful to talk to. In addition to this, the space is very accommodating.

I’ve had the Karak Tea (milk tea with cardamom) which was very good. When it comes to their baked goods I’ve had their baklava, milk baklava, Znoud El Sit, orange cake, and the date balls! Everything was amazing, but (in my opinion) the milk baklava is 100% the star of the show! I will be a frequent flyer to be sure!!

I hate to be the one to disturb a wall of five-star enthusiasm, but it feels necessary to say this plainly.

Asa Al-Furat has earned its reputation for warmth. The staff were authentic, kind, and welcoming in a way that cannot be manufactured. One senses immediately that hospitality here is cultural rather than commercial, and that counts for a great deal.

Most of the praise one encounters, however, centers on the desserts and pastries—items we did not partake in, and therefore cannot fairly judge. Our visit was for the drinks, and it is here that the experience faltered.

We ordered the Iraqi Jeqlitiya Coffee and the Karak Tea. The spices were unmistakably of the Arab world—fragrant, confident, and beautifully layered. Unfortunately, the coffee beneath them was not worthy of their company. The drink tasted thin and diluted, with the unmistakable character of something derived from powder or a machine rather than freshly prepared espresso or even proper drip. This impression was strengthened by the absence of any visible espresso or coffee equipment in the shop; the drinks were prepared in the back, entirely out of sight.

The result was a disappointment not because the flavors were wrong, but because they were held up by weak foundations. The spices carried the drink as far as they could, but no amount of cardamom can redeem bad coffee.

Asa Al-Furat succeeds admirably in atmosphere and hospitality. If the same care were applied to the coffee itself, it would deserve every star it currently enjoys. As it stands, the kindness remains memorable; the coffee does not.

The Iraqi coffee served here may very well be my new favorite coffee. It’s rich and smooth with just a hint of sweetness without going overboard like an overly sweet latte. The food is also pretty good! I had the kanafa, which I would also highly recommend. It was sort of like the taste of a sugar cookie but has a very unique texture. I believe they topped mine with pistachio and a honey glaze. Definitely a new hidden gem as it’s is a bit hidden off the square. The women at this business were really sweet, patient and helpful for my first visit.

This place is very cute and authentic. We got the red jelly slush, iced hibiscus, and the baklava. I do recommend getting the jelly slush if you want something more sweet! Can’t wait to come back and try more items!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing experience at Asa Al-Furat (Springfield, MO)!
I had such a great time at Asa Al-Furat in Springfield, MO. The food and drinks were seriously amazing. I tried the toast sandwich, the milk baklava plate, and the chocolate baklava—everything was fresh and absolutely delicious.

For drinks, I got the Layali Al Iraq hot drink and the Red Jelly Fish slush, and wow… that Red Jelly slush was honestly one of the best drinks I’ve ever had.

The staff was super helpful, friendly, and conversational, and the atmosphere was sweet, casual, and relaxing. I ended up staying there for about 3 hours doing work, and time flew by. It was the perfect spot to sit, focus, and enjoy good vibes.

This is definitely my new favorite café and might honestly become my new “office” spot Highly recommend!

It feels like someone has brought you into their home. Based on my first visit, the Iraqi Jeqlitiya Coffee is great to sit with and sip. I definitely recommend the Znoud El Sit – I took some home to family, and we fought over them – haha! I hope this business continues to do well!
