I’ve been here four times. The food is good. Sometimes. This latest visit, I ordered chicken Parmesan and it was overcooked. Black around the edges. I brought it to the attention of the waiter and was told that’s how it’s prepared. See picture. The same waiter told us that we could “go elsewhere.” Also, the restaurant needs more waiters. We had to get up to ask for napkins, oregano and cheese about 15 minutes after the food arrived. We also got up to order dessert. We were dining in. Otherwise, it’s a nice spot. Massive changes starting with customer service could make this a great establishment. Good luck!

I’ve been to Artisana Pizza twice now, and both visits were great!
The restaurant has a clean, modern vibe and friendly service. On our first visit, we came on a Sunday around 5pm with family. It wasn’t very busy, so the food came out pretty fast. The Dolce Vita pizza was tasty – sweet and savory. The Burrata salad was fresh and delicious, and the Bomboloni (fried donuts filled with hazelnut chocolate) were a fun dessert. I also tried the Limonata mocktail, which was just okay for me.
On our second visit, I had the Linguini al Gamberini e Funghi—a creamy shrimp and mushroom pasta. It was really good (I love creamy pastas), though a bit on the expensive side. We also tried the Bianca pizza, which was like a fancy cheese pizza—simple, flavorful, and well done.
Overall, solid food, generous portions, and a nice spot to eat out in Dumfries. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

We have been here 4 times and 3 of the 4 times have had the same waiter Alie. He was amazing and attentive and is the reason for the review. The food is good the mocktails and coffee is good as well but the service from the waiter is phenomenal he makes sure your drinks are full and the that you aren’t missing anything. It doesn’t hurt that the pizza is very good as well! 10/10 would recommend.

The food was okay overall, nothing particularly stood out. I was especially looking forward to the cacio e pepe, but unfortunately, it fell flat , it was quite dry and lacked the bold, peppery flavor I expected. The cheese had clumped together on top and the dish didn’t have much sauce, just plain noodles. The potatoes were also on the bland side, though not terrible. On a brighter note, the pizza was definitely the highlight ,flavorful and well made, with no complaints there.

We ate here for lunch, midweek. They weren’t busy at that time and we were seated right away. The pizzas and cheese bread were very good! Our server definitely could have been more attentive, but I would not hesitate to eat here again. Give it a try!

Nice spot. Sat at the bar, enjoyed some absolutely delicious beverages while waiting for our food to go. It was a good vibe while we waited and the staff was friendly. The focaccia was great to snack on with our drinks and the pizzas were spectacular- the ricotta is the best touch. Aside from getting cannolis when we ordered the tiramisu, everything was delicious and exactly what we wanted this afternoon.

Food was delicious and very good, ambience is beautiful and nice, overall great place! My wife and I ate calamari, pizza, lasagna, mussels, bread and oil, gelato and tiramisu, and I had two drinks from the bar —we were surprised the receipt was lower than expected and service was exceptional.
My wife said it felt like we were eating in Italy and that the food tasted like we were eating delicious home cooked food. She loved it.

We came here for lunch and was totally surprised that the food here was good. We thought it would be more Italian American, but it’s close to authentic Italian. We started with just bread and EVOO dip. The bread was delicious. It was crunchy but not hard, and it stayed that way even when it got cold or room temperature. It was a good sign, we thought. If the bread is good, then the food will be. We were correct! The pizza Marguerite tasted like it was supposed to. I ordered the Linguini Fruta di Mare, and it was delicious. I was hoping that they didn’t subdue the acidity of the San Marzano tomato sauce. It was a little water down to make it look more saucy? The pasta wasn’t Al dente like I want it to be. We didn’t have time for dessert, but we will definitely get one when we go back. We would like to try the other yummy food offered here.
