The Brown Maple Old-Fashioned is perfectly aligned to be dubbed the American “Baseball Old-Fashioned.” It honestly tastes just like Crackerjacks.
The Rum & Regulation can be oversimplified as a rum old-fashioned. There are some slight differences and it was good.
We ordered Crab Frites to snack on with our drinks. These were good and hot. We’re typically use to Steak Frites so this was a good twist.
The service was good. Multiple bartenders came to our service during our trip. They were all friendly and attentive.
The atmosphere had an upscale vibe and feel. We enjoyed it.
The Turkey BLT was another standout—fresh, hearty, and filling. Overall, a great meal with quality ingredients. I’ll definitely be back!
I sat down quite late, and even with Teamsters conference in the building, there were a few spots available at the bar and in the general lobby area.
I never saw the place fill up and you could sit down at any point.
The bean soup was big and delicious and the chicken leg was huge, crispy and nicely complimented by the roasted vegetables and black beans.
Service was offered with smile and speed (there were three bartenders there!), so everything came out quickly.
I know that when we have another event in town, I’ll be staying here.
The staff, especially Wilson D. was very accomodating and considerate of each of our needs/specific wants. The bar itself isn’t very big and the number of people in my group alone was more than the bar could accomodate. We had to move chairs/tables around to have all of us join together in close proximity to one another. The staff didn’t seem to mind that we did that.
I’m sure the bills were quite confusing, as well. Each of us was buying drinks for others, some being charged to the rooms, others paying as they go. Some of us wandered off with the bar glasses & other dishes, as well. But, the staff seemed to go with the flow and maintain smiles the entire time we were there.
Having a place to decompress after such heavy meetings was a life saver for many of us. It was nice to not have to leave the grounds, grab a drink with dinner and head right up to our respective rooms!
Any time I’m in DC, I will be ensuring that I stay at this hotel, regardless of where I need to go while there! Absolute perfect first impression!
Dinner is also very good. We love Maya, she’s amazing and caters to every request.
The old fashioned was served with an orange wedge instead of its peel and came with small ice cubes.
Anyway after a long day, rewarding yourself with a meal at a restaurant, never wrong!
Pre-cooked scrambled eggs/bacon are hit or miss – were great one morning, but barely warm on another. Still, there is an omelet station – get it cooked to your specs right in front of you.
Coffee is consistently good. Plenty of cold cuts, pastries and fresh fruit.
Haven’t tried sausages or pancakes – but they looked/smelled good.
Bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, cereals – all typical breakfast staples. You won’t leave hungry.
