When you walk in and see darkness and no one at the hostess desk. That’s a sign. We were greeted from a person coming in from the darkness. He greeted us and walked us to the bar/restaurant part of this establishment. We saw one person at the bar waiting for his takeout order. The place was cold and quiet. Occasionally a song would play and go quiet again. Suddenly a few minutes later another song and a long pause. We enjoyed this place and its many other locations which have closed already. The decor hasn’t changed; musty smell, dark, ragged carpets, outdated wood wall paneling were some of the noticeable decor. We were going to order its once famous steaks but decided to play it safe and order cheeseburgers and Pepsi.

It took awhile and burgers came out. Didn’t look like I remember. Btw, you pay for extras like lettuce, tomatoes, onions and fries. Taste was just average and fries bland. Pepsi had an unusual taste. Bill was under $48.

This place needs a total makeover and gut everything and bring back its Glory Days.

Steak was the best I remember it. Cooked perfectly. Only reason for the lower service score is that I only saw one server and one manager. They both tried very hard but with limited staff. It was slower service. But the NY Strip steak was phenomenal and huge!

Being this is a steakhouse i expected to see more choices of steak cuts. There was only 3 choices. Prices were very high. I expected a better quality steak for what I paid. I’ve had better quality steaks at lesser price. I was even charged for seltzer. The waiter we had was fabulous!! We had a party of 10 & he was so attentive to all of us.

I had no issues on a Monday night around 8pm. I was the only customer there, not sure why so I had to look at the reviews. Was a solo customer and just got steak and water. Been going here once a year for 20 years and it seemed like the same steak to me. Hot and done right. Yes its the same exact decor from 20 years ago but are you there to take photos for your social media or to eat? Everything seemed clean to me. In fact I watched the young man wipe a table down and he did it with care. The waitress was professional and attentive.
I can’t speak on anything else.

This place is getting a bad rap….Ribeye was perfect, sides and apps were delicious. Most of all the young man serving us was great, on point, personable and attentive. Yes the look of the place is dated but it’s well worth a visit! Give them a try, would be a shame for a legendary place like this to go under.

This steakhouse remains a standout in town, with its hearty portions perfect for sharing. The ribs are enormous! The Our steak is consistently outstanding, boasting that timeless flavor with divine char notes. And for dessert, The carrot cake was an unexpected delight! The cream cheese frosting was irresistibly smooth, complementing the fluffy cake impeccably.

Everything was delicious. We enjoyed the complimentary pickles, red peppers, and cole slaw. Our steaks tasted great and the service was also very good.

I don’t know how often you may pass through New Jersey on 95 but just off exit 9 hwy 18 is Arthur’s Steakhouse & Pub. It’s definitely worth the stop because it’s very rare to get this old time feel plus the delicious food. My steak and shrimp were perfectly cooked. Great people who focus on serving others with top notch service. I use to think folks had to dress up but I’m all Truck Driver. I did shower this morning so I’m sure that helped.

I had high hopes for Arthur’s Steakhouse, but my experience was terrible from start to finish. When I arrived to pick up my order, the restaurant was completely empty—not a single customer or staff member in sight. I stood there for several minutes, unsure of what to do, and finally had to call their phone number twice just to get someone to show up at the front desk.

The food was even worse. The steak and sides were utterly flavorless and drowning in grease, making them almost impossible to eat. And don’t even get me started on the French onion soup—it had the consistency of mucus and was just as unappetizing as it sounds. It was honestly one of the worst things I’ve ever been served.

For a place that markets itself as a steakhouse, this was a complete disaster. Between the poor service and the inedible food, I’ll never return and strongly recommend others avoid it as well.

I decided to come here for the first time in 13 years. It’s still the same interior I remembered it still has a dive bar feel to it except they got rid of the red and white checkerboard table cloths. I ordered a cowboy burger (SWISS CHEESE, BACON, SAUTEED MUSHROOMS, SAUTEED ONIONS, LETTUCE & TOMATOES). It was pretty good a little under cooked but it was still good. My waitress was very friendly and attentive. Overall it’s an ok place it’s still the same as I remember it is not a high end place even though they price it near that range. But it’s still good if you’re in the area
