I finally ordered food from here after years of driving by. Thankfully, they have online ordering that lets you know, what time frame your type if order will be ready and you don’t go over too early. Highly suggest pre-ordering to go or dine in unless you are there taking your time, as fresh food takes a while & it’s a busy place. As I did a to go order, I didn’t get to experience the type of service they have, but was greeted as soon as I walked in and they handed my order, thus 4 stars for now.

Now the food, I placed 2 orders of lamb shanks hoping it was a good choice and wow, very fall off the bone and delicious thick sauce that might be tomatoe with spice based. I would order an extra pita to make it a saucy bite. The shish kabob order was soft and flavorful that my mom did not complain about the meat. Next order will be Koobideh and an extra order of the refreshing salad.

They have a pretty outdoor seating area that is well shadded and blocked from the street that you can spot driving by. I went to look at it and it felt cool there, although the sun was pretty strong that day. I hope to enjoy it the next visit as this time it was a to go order.

It is not the best area and you might have a hard time finding parking due to the spots around there being taken over by RV’s, but don’t let it stop you from going over to try out the Persian food that might be new to you.

I came here based on glowing reviews and chose it over Shekarchi because it had higher ratings, and I genuinely feel scammed. If you are looking for authentic Persian food or an authentic Persian experience, move right along. The flavors are so far removed from real Persian cuisine that I wouldn’t even recognize them as Persian. The ground chicken was loaded with so much garlic it was unrecognizable. Chicken koobideh should never taste like that. The barg was dry and flavorless and again had none of the traditional Persian flavors. On top of that, any Persian restaurant that serves pita instead of real Persian bread is already telling you everything. No sangak, no lavash, just basic pita tossed into a plastic basket. There is nothing authentic about that.

It’s disappointing that the reviews online did not reflect the reality. The restaurant itself is a complete dump, nothing like the pictures posted by other customers. I also seriously doubt there is any Persian influence behind the food because nothing tasted remotely Persian, and no one working there was Persian.

I even asked the person at the front whether the owner is Persian. After a long pause, she said the owner’s partner is Persian. There is absolutely nothing about the food, the flavor, or the preparation that suggests any Persian involvement.

If you are looking for authentic Persian food, do yourself a favor and don’t come here. I will not be returning.

Arthur’s Garden – One of LA’s Best Kept Secrets (Okay Fine… I’ll Share)

I usually keep this spot under wraps, but I’m breaking my own rule because Arthur’s Garden is just that good. Tucked away in LA, it’s the kind of place you stumble into once and then keep going back—quietly, so no one else finds out.

I had the Chicken Soltani with a rice swap for their cherry saffron rice—an absolute must. That hint of tartness with the saffron rice was the perfect match for the juicy, flavorful kabob.

The Mast-o-Khiar (yogurt with cucumber) was thick, creamy, and full of cool, herbaceous flavor. I’d just suggest asking for extra raisins if you like a little sweetness in the mix like I do.

Their homemade Persian tea? Spot on. It’s not pre-sweetened, which I love, and it comes with lemon wedges so you can adjust it to your taste. It’s simple, authentic, and honestly hits the spot—especially after a heavy meal.

My sister ordered the chicken kabob and said, “This place is better than Raffi’s.” That’s not a statement we throw around lightly in this household, but she meant it.

And I’ve gotta say, the staff really make the experience what it is. Super warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They create the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to come back—not just for the food, but because it feels like you’re eating at someone’s home.

So yeah… if you know me and you’re reading this, you caught me. This is one of my hidden gems. Just don’t blow it up too much, alright? Let’s keep Arthur’s Garden our little secret—kind of.

Arthur’s Garden is a must-visit for anyone who loves plants. The garden center is well maintained, and the variety is amazing. The staff are patient and attentive, providing tips for plant care. It’s a relaxing place to shop, and I always leave inspired to improve my garden.

Went here for the first time in 2 years of wondering what the food was like. I’m really glad I finally went. Food was delicious and service was great. Went early at around 11am and plenty of seating available. I asked for my plate to be half beef and half chicken, to which Arturo gladly accommodated. Highly recommend this small gem. I’ll definitely be going back.

The best Persian food ever! If you haven’t tried this spot, you’re missing out. Chicken is so juicy that meat is just delicious. The Aguas frescas, omg, to die for. I can say this has become one of our favorite family restaurants by far.

Arturo Junior and Senior are the absolute dream team with their authentic food. Truly the most amazing and tender combination rice plate. I came with my dad and boyfriend, and it was my boyfriend’s first time eating Persian food and he couldn’t even choose which dish was tastiest since everything was top tier. We got their two kebab combo with the beef and skinless chicken which was a nice bright orange and all dark meat! Juicy and flavorful are understatements and we were such a fan of the rice. Extra points for great pita bread and salad with diced persian cucumbers. Our favorite parts of the restaurant are Arturo and his impeccable service and passion for the food!

5 star food. Not a great area. Small business so food might take while.
