This place is wonderful! I got the cheese empanada and it was delicious. The cheese is perfectly gooey. They also have a variety of flavors and foods. Definitely go check it out if you happen to be by.

El Artesano Empanadas in White Plains is a hidden gem. The empanadas are packed with flavor—buffalo chicken, beef, and chicken were all perfectly seasoned with a crispy, golden crust. The real standout was the chimichurri steak sandwich—juicy, tender steak on a soft bun, loaded with cheese and served with chimichurri and fries. I finished with the dulce de leche dessert empanada, which had a surprise layer of banana cake inside—absolutely delicious. The owner Ricardo was welcoming and clearly passionate about the food. A must-visit spot!

Empanadas are delicious. Great. Maybe pricy but good. Service is bad. The lady goes in the back. Dies acknowledge people coming at the door. Atleast she should screen from the back and say. Please wait I will be there. People come in wait and leave. Nobody come out to talk to them. Sorry. Someone need to do something. Lol.

Although, the people are very nice here, they do not understand English very well and got my order completely wrong. I ordered a box of 10 empanadas and asked for 8 Beef and 2 Buffalo Chicken. He was having difficulty understanding me, so I made sure the order was correct on my receipt before stepping away from the counter. Unfortunately, after getting home I found they gave me 4 Beef, 2 Buffalo Chicken, & 4 Chicken. Tried calling them to resolve, but no one answered.
This is not the first time they have had difficulty understanding my order so I don’t think I will be going back anymore.

The chimichurri steak sandwich was absolutely delicious. The empanadas were also very very good. They were packed with meat but not too heavy. I would advise to not use wax paper on the sandwich if you get cheese as the cheese just gets stuck to the paper so I had like no cheese on the sandwich. But in either case food was absolutely amazing cant wait to go back!

I stumbled upon an a local influencer’s video highlighting this place and I decided to stop in. Don’t be fooled; while the address says “white plains” I’d say this place is actually located in North White Plains. You’ll find El Artesano Empanads in the Sir John Plaza next to Violetta Nails.
While tiny, they offer some outside seating along with two high top tables inside. Guys…the food was DELICIOUS. I ordered their viral steak sandwich, churros, and of course, their empanadas.
The steak sandwich was INCREDIBLE. I intended to share it with my fiancé however he’s not eating bacon and they were not able to make a sandwich without it (Which was not a problem for me, so I was happy to this sandwich all to myself ). Expert tip: add cheese. It was incredibly flavorful and seasoned perfectly! For the empanadas I decided to get a box of 6, as they have SO MANY FLAVORS! We chose the spinach, chicken, beef and caprese (special). All were delicious and we were given a yummy chipotle and chimichurri sauce to dip. $ of course we had to get dessert; so we got the churros that were served with a chocolate and dulce de leche sauce. INCREDIBLE!!
The lady who took my order was kind and helpful as I navigated all the choices. I am so happy I found this little gem so close to my house! I will definitely be back soon!

Delicious, clean, small area to eat inside & out. Beef and chicken were great, excited to try more. Get 1/2 dozen or a dozen for a deal. Excited to try other empanada types. Dipping sauces were delicious, don’t be afraid of the jalapeño one, very delicious and mild for anyone sensitive to heat
