Placed order online to pickup. Some of the food was not hot and or did not taste freshly cooked.

Food was excellent, service was good and lady owner sang happy birthday to my niece.
We arrived and were seated immediately.
Two in my family did not like the pork chops, said it was not seasoned and or tasted bland. One asked for the baked chicken instead and enjoyed the baked chicken. Leaving this in the review with the hope and confidence that the pork chops will improve over time.
We received our appetizers and one starters first, children had their food immediately after appetizers were served, entrees and then sides were delivered separately and after the entrees were served. Everyone was asked, who asked for this side and that side. So wait for it and you will get your food.
Love all the phrases and or sayings posted throughout the restaurant reminding you that you are loved etc…
I had the catfish, green beans and baked beans and they all were amazing. I also had the blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream and that was just as amazing. My brothers told me that I need to try the baked beans (best he ever had) and the blackberry cobbler; all of my brothers had the blackberry cobbler except one of my brothers because our mother made blackberry pie at home for us. My brother Keith did not have the blackberry cobbler; he said, no one told him anything. Evidently he would have tried it, if he knew about it.
We all said we would love to return because the food and service is that good!

As soon as you come through the door, you receive a beautiful greeting! Love that! Now, about the food…all I can say is delicious!! It was seasoned…no salt or pepper was needed! The portions were generous. The servers are all so kind and they make you feel welcomed. We will return when in the area.

My first experience with southern soul food since moving to VA; Ashland’s hidden gem Around the Table offered a cozy atmosphere, with their monthly “55 And Up” club (every third Thursday) going on next door, you can hear people having fun, while enjoying the tastiest “all from scratch” cooking. I ordered their chicken-fried shrimp(crispy and finger lickin’), cornbread, spoon bread (first time try for me, it was amazing), fries, and slaw (better than KFC’s!!) and it was served by friendly staff (sorry dear I am terrible with names!) and even the owner herself stopped by our table and thanked us for coming.
10/10 I will definitely come back Around the Table to try more of their delicious meals.

First time dining here. Super friendly staff. The food arrived quickly despite being pretty busy on a Saturday evening. The fried porkchops (2) were very good. Mac and cheese was very cheesy and delicious as were the collards. I ate half and brought the rest home for another meal. Will definitely go back.

Around the Table Southern Food is the real deal! Came for the chicken livers (sold out, so next time), but the chicken & waffle special and BBQ pulled chicken sandwich more than made up for it. Sides were spot on — spoon bread, cabbage, collards, mac n’ cheese, and yams were all packed with flavor. Service was top-notch, food came out quick, and my waitress was amazing. Can’t wait to come back!

I got the Bologna burger absolutely delicious. My husband got the ribs and was not impressed. They were fall of the bone but way to saucy for his liking , someone else might love them that way. The atmosphere mad you feel at home overall a great 1st time. experience. We will both try something new next time.

We were passing through Virginia and found one of the best places to eat. Meat loaf was the special of the day so we both ordered it. It is so special – best meat loaf ever. True home cooking. This is the spot! You will leave this place feeling in a better mood. Wonderful hospitality right as you walk through the door with a warm greeting. We had a party of 6 with 3 kids on top and they tossed a few tables together right away to accommodate us. The food was phenomenal. I had the fried chicken while others tried the bologna burger, whiting sandwich and crab cake sandwich. Everyone loved everything but a few saw the smothered porkchop delivered to another customer and put that on their to do list. The sides, the sides, the sides, the sides. They need a side sampler on this menu because the entire table was giving and taking from everyone else’s plate. A great experience and we will for sure be back!!!

Had a wonderful dinner on a freezing cold night at Around the table. Welcomed I was a long time customer, with a smile even though this was my first time. Ribs were on special for the evening. Coupled with collards and mashed potatoes it was wonderful. Also enough food for a meal the next day.
