Passing through the area and looking for a down to earth, clean, friendly and affordable place to eat. We were a party of eight that showed up near closing and instead of staff being annoyed, the host; server; bartender; and owner were nothing but friendly and helpful and happy to see us. Even the fellow patrons were friendly. Not only was the food great- biggest chicken wings I have ever seen- French onion soup was bubbling hot and salmon and nachos were delish- the drinks were prompt and well made. Prepared to accommodate small and large parties, and although it’s a few miles from the interstate “around the bend” is worth the stop! Easy parking, great people, outstanding food in a clean pub-style environment.

I loved everything about it don’t get me wrong, the people, setting, vibe everything I loved. People were very kind and very thoughtful. But I was in for a treat, fried steak? More like fried beef patty after unraveling a INCH of fried badder of the “fried steak” it not only scared me but traumatized the 2 others that was with me, the lady that saw my unraveled fried beef patty and told her, “can you please get this dish away from me?” And she was very kind about it and offered anything else but after seeing what was a so called “fried steak” I couldn’t look at the menu again, DONT GET ME WRONG the other things on the menu sounds lovely but that fried steak scared me. DONT GET THE FRIED STEAK!

Honest Observations
Sadly to say, I don’t understand these five star reviews at all, they have to be bought or from friends. The wings are coated with thick breading which is hard to chew and not noted on the menu. Had I known that, I would not have ordered them at all! The french fries are shoe string and don’t maintain the heat and the “beef” gravy tastes like onions. The French onion soup is less than desirable and reminds me of dish water soup that lacks any really flavor. The ice tea has no sugar added and is annoying to have to wait for it to melt on it’s own…. definitely not worth the cost, better to cook at home. Seen some friends who later stated similar disappointments. Sorry, its just not worth the $$$$

Friendly service, great food. The owner took the time to tell me the best way to get to my destination (GPS isn’t always right.) This little spot is a diamond in the rough with customer friendly hours for both locals and travelers. Start with the nachos, you will be impressed!

This restaurant is the definition of welcoming. From the moment you walk in, you feel like part of the family. The food is outstanding – the French onion soup is one of the best I’ve ever had, rich and flavorful, and the pizza burger is a must-try, perfectly balanced and delicious.

A special shout-out to Jenny and Mrs. Skripko for their warmth and kindness – they truly make every visit memorable. And hats off to Jeff for transforming this place into such a gem. He’s created not just a restaurant, but a community spot where everyone feels at home.

If you’re looking for great food, friendly service, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again, this is the place.

The restaurant was SO clean and had great music playing- not too loud. The owner and staff were so incredibly kind and attentive. We loved talking with Jeff and Sue! The food was great! We LOVED the chicken bacon ranch Philly! Kids meals were great and came with ice cream! We will definitely we coming back!

On a whim & while traveling, my husband and I searched Google for a restaurant nearby. Around the Bend sounded interesting and had good reviews so we took an easy 20 minute detour to stop by for a bite to eat. We were cheerfully welcomed in & waited on promptly. The atmosphere was relaxing & the entire restaurant was spic & span clean. Our burger & fried fish meals were really good! We even had Fritos offered as a side which was unique and a nice change of pace from potato chips. We chatted with the owner who was as friendly as could be. The place is off the beaten path but very worthy to seek out.We will definitely stop again next time we’re in the area. 🙂
