Went for the first time on a Friday for lunch. Our group is going back in a month. Gotta try the pizza, it looked good. Wish the Carbonara tasted better. I don’t know if they put enough of the guanciale rendered fat in the sauce. Caesar salad was enough to split for 2. They comped us one tiramisu for our birthday people. Yum. Everything went well on our first visit. Enjoyable.

Everything we ordered was delicious and freshly made. The wait staff were attentive and helpful with the menu. They also had good recommendations on what to eat. The restaurant atmosphere was bright and joyful.
We ordered the fried burrata as an appetizer. It came with mortadella and a pistachio pesto sauce. I’ve never had a dish like that and enjoyed it a lot.
My wife got the table side gnocchi inside of the pizza crust. She enjoyed having the pizza crust as a bowl.
I ordered the spicy vodka sauce with rigatoni. The spice level was perfect and I managed to eat the whole plate. All of the portions were large and will definitely fill you up.
Lastly we ordered the chocolate cake which was decadent and delicious. We will definitely be back with friends and family!

I have been looking for a vodka sauce dish in San Diego for 10 years in San Diego and haven’t been able to find anything comparable to the east coast. This place delivered! Adorable atmosphere and delicious food super reasonably priced. The steak was cooked perfectly as well. Can’t wait to try the pizza next!

What a cute place! The decor is fun, warm, and inviting. All of the staff that we interacted with was accommodating and attentive. The whole cheese wheel thing has a super cool although watching them drive the cart back behind doors ever few minutes was crazy. Being Italian, the food was good. I wish they served bread. The pizza was quite yummy! I felt some of the pasta dish portions were small. For a Saturday it was really popping. The outside patio seems quite nice, will try that next time. Great for a date night or gathering with friends and oh, plenty of parking.

We arrived at 5 on a Friday before they even got busy and the service was so bad! Our waiter chose to stand in a corner and chit chat the entire evening, rather than serve guests, remember this was before they even got busy! My glass of water was dirty and had someone else lip marks on it. In addition, the table wasn’t even clean and had the pizza crumbs of who knows how many patrons dinner prior to us. After 6 it was a packed restaurant. The food portions are small and just meh…..there is no protein options in any of the pasta dishes except for one or two and the amount is laughable! You’ll pay extra for any protein options!!!!!
the table side pasta special was good but you pay premium for that, and again it had maybe half an Italian sausage in it The table side tiramisu was a cute concept and absolutely delicious! But other than that, based on price, portions and bad service, I will not be back.

Celebrating fathers day and decided to do lunch to beat the crowd, its a beautiful sunny hot day in San Diego. I made reservations prior to arrival just incase it was a bit busy, there was plenty of parking when we arrived. When approaching the entrance we were greeted and seated right away and we had the opportunity to pick our seats to our liking. Place is beautifully designed and laid out has a great nice vibrant atmosphere loved all the decor in the restaurant. The host shared the soup and pasta of the day which was greatly appreciated, as that helped us place our order. We did order the mushroom soup of the day and pasta which was incredibly tasty and delicious, this was our first time tasting a mushroom soup and I have to say we loved it. We also ordered an order of garlic bread which went great with everything else. I had a cucumber mojito that was nicely refreshing and I enjoyed it very much, I could hardly taste the rum so it wasn’t too strong but good enough to enjoy. Lastly the dish I ordered was a couple of sides combined into one, as they did that accommodation for me. I ordered a stuffed portobello mushroom that tasted just like lasagna, roasted mixed vegetables and rosemary baked potatoes. My visit there was nice and was a wonderful experience, service and food was beyond my expectations and I highly recommend it for any occasion.

Aromi Italian Cuisine in La Mesa has been on my list for some time! We finally got in to check it out and I was really impressed. Voted La Mesa’s best Italian restaurant, and I can see why. The restaurant is beautiful, charming and elegantly appointed. The vibe and food immediately struck me as top-shelf, on par with nice Italian establishments in Little Italy and North Park. Do yourself a favor and avoid the expensive, frustrating Little Italy parking nightmare and just come here. Plenty of free parking right out front. This place reinforces my observation over the years that some of the best Italian restaurants just happen to be in strip malls. There is a nice selection of Italian wines by the glass and well crafted cocktails. My Sangiovese was lovely and a generous pour. The Espresso Martini was exquisite.
There is no house bread service here so we ordered the garlic bread which seemed under-toasted. Unusually soft and spongy in the center. My Caprese was outstanding. Nicely presented on such a beautiful plate. Very fresh tasting with some of the best balsamic I’ve had. The Paccheri was excellent! Served hot and al dente. I did ask the waiter for a daub of ricotta on top but that was unfortunately missed. My wife had the Cheese Wheel Pasta and really enjoyed it. The tableside preparation and presentation was delightful. Reservations were easy on OpenTable, however they missed the part about celebrating a birthday. Even mentioned to the waiter who didn’t seem to care. While your mileage may vary with the service here, I do highly recommend Aromi for the food. Definitely a standout Italian dining experience in San Diego.
