Visited yesterday (Saturday night) as a party of 5. Glad we’d pre-booked as the restaurant was already packed at 7.30. Great atmosphere with good view of the docks from the upper dining area. The food was a cut above the other curry houses I’ve tried in Gloucester and this will definitely be my new ‘go to’ for a curry. Good value for money, good service & great food!

I have to say im really disappointed with the Aroma restaurant, I came to this restaurant with a party of 7. We had pre booked a week in advance.

I came today with high hopes in mind, reading these amazing reviews has really led me to believe there fake.

We came into the restaurant, was seated right next to the very dirty & smelly toilet which men & women had to share!!!!

We had popadoms to start with which were stale.

After an hour and a half we finally received our mains. My partner had ordered a korma which had the same consistency as a soup, my chicken tikka was spicy, the onion bhajis were rock hard & cold and the naan bread tasted like nothing more than cardboard.

The staff were absolutely disgusting, a young short woman served us with a very disgusting attitude, handed us drinks with her fingers inside and outside the glass that we were supposed to drink from , then proceeded to spill one of the drinks all over me and laughed instead of apologising . As we were given the £240 bill, we were demanded to tip the service, as if this was America!

Truly truly disappointed in this restaurant and I hope they shut down very soon, should definitely not be allowed to run a business!!!!

My family and I have been coming here for years. We always receive amazing service and the food has never failed to be amazing. We came here on Thursday this week for a work meal and it was great, busy, with a good vibe in the restaurant. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our visit. The level of service was impeccable. We were part of a large group and everyone agreed that the food and atmosphere wes excellent. Quite a small and intimate restaurant but this just added to the atmosphere. Recommended

First time visiting Aroma restaurant, I found the food I had was excellent, vegetable samosas with a side salad, followed by malabar lamb curry with Mushroom Rice and cheese and garlic naan bread, also had 3 kingfisher beers

Food taste one of the best as compared to Bristol, Swindon & Gloucestershire. They have brought the authentic taste for Indian family. Greeted with smile and got a desired place to seat. Communication was very clear for the spice level and they don’t disappointed by giving us less chilly food which is usually served in any Indian restaurants adapted to British people. Complimentary popodrum was served. Price are reasonable. Biryani could be served with some more chicken. We loved the visit and definitely visit again.

If you want to sit and wait ages for your food then this is the place to go. The meat dishes were luke warm at best and what the butter mango chicken dish is about is beyond me. Rice was tasty as was the coriander & garlic nan, but that is as good as it gets im afraid. Nothing special. Dont know why its as busy as it is tbh with the time it takes to have your food served.

We came here due to the reviews, but this was far from the comments. We pre booked a table and still had to wait to be seated, the food came out very slow after an hour after ordering our starters came out, and then the chicken nuggets we had ordered for our child came out with them so they were still eating when we weren’t even on our mains, other tables food who were seated after us were seen to first. There are definitely better restaurants to go to the food is average and I wouldn’t be going back

Never dissapoints, the food is always delicious, need to try the desserts sometime.
Only ever had takeout and didnt have to wait longer than 20mins each time, but I also seem to luckily come in just before the rush.

Recommended this restaurant by the Rodway Golf Club, ate with a friend and can honestly say one of the best curries I have ever had, full of flavour and spice, an absolute delight. Thoroughly enjoyable meal and service. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Gloucester and wishing to partake in a curry.
