Food is excellent!! Nan bread is made fresh after you are seated. It is so fluffy. It is not oily at all. I can eat 1 entire basket by myself, but I try to resist the urge;) The servers r very nice, professional and observant. They fill your water glasses, bring baby chairs if needed and clear off plates from your table. The decor is nice, clean and cozy. I came for lunch and had the buffet. Their pakora french fries were better than any fries I’ve ever tasted. Crunchy, not oily on the outside and soft on the inside. Wow!! Was soooooo delicious!!! Had to go back several times… Plus, the mango pudding was great too! It has a nice vanilla and cardamom flavor profile. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Castro Valley. A MUST place to try. Plus, it won’t break your bankbook. Lunch buffet was approximately $11 per person.

I visited aroma craving for indian food and wasnt dissapointed. The prices of all the dishes are reasonable and the quality of food is equally good. Chole bhature was the best among all the dishes we tried. Overall it was a good restuarant if you stay in the castro valley area. Only thing i disliked was the waiter who seemed to be very rude.

Went for valentine dinner. It was small place and limited place to sit. Food was okay not as expected. Shortage of staffs, just one guy handling everything, cashier, hosting, taking order and brings food too. Such multi tasking made him for to which and what table the order is. Was disappointed with them.

I love good Indian food, and I think this is about the best I have ever tasted. The amount of chicken was more than adequate and seemed like good quality, was well cooked and had great flavor. Same goes for everything that accompanied the main dish, including the naan. Finished off by delicious mango lassi to wash everything down, it was a great night. I will certainly visit this place again.

I honestly didn’t expect much from this place. It is small and very hard to notice. Although….
The 2 dinners we ordered were beyond belief! Honestly it was amazing! The chicken in our dinners were very well cooked with no gristle, both dishes had its own kind of spice (as we both ordered medium spice level) one was a slow level of powder spice and the other seemed to be a shocking oil natural spice, the flavor on the entire plate compliments one another as well!
Of course we did substitute the original nan for much more flavorful and well baked nan!
I will totally recommend this place to everyone that I know that likes to try great tasting food, with an awesome and helpful staff plus top of the line India cuisine cooks’.
Of course, we will be coming back to this place!

Harabhara naan was awesome and blended with some good flavours. Paneer tikka was made with tomato gravy which has given tangy taste but no flavours in curry. It was without any spices. No flavour at all except raw taste. Samosa is even tasteless. Good thing is paneer was fresh and green chutney was amazing.

My husband and I enjoyed this mornings visit to Aroma. I would recommend the lamb Masala. Lamb was tender. Sauce is great. The window seat was nice and the service was excellent. They are classy and clean.

Where’s the sixth star when you need it? This is an absolutely wonderful sensory experience with food in a peaceful, cozy setting. The pics may be a disservice but since I can’t share the meal with you… maybe next time though; as surely Aroma merits more visits!

Love the gluten free (naan!) and vegan options.
Not a very fancy seating area but service is good enough.
