We are a locally owned coffee shop and wine bar located in the heart of downtown Crystal Lake! Our menu includes imported espresso beverages, a finely curated selection of wine, seasonal craft cocktails, and light dishes ranging from early morning European pastries to late night decadent desserts. The area is we shine most in is providing a luxe atmosphere of community, where you can work productively by daylight and enjoy the finer things by slowing down with friends and loved ones in the evening.

I absolutely love this place. From the coffee to the people, everything feels intentional and welcoming. It’s one of my favorite spots to meet with friends and clients because the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and perfect for meaningful conversations. So grateful for the heart behind it. It truly shows.

Great coffee at this very nice coffee shop right across from the Crystal Lake Metra station. I believe it is also the Crystal Lake downtown or downtown of whatever lil village it is. Pretty refreshing to find good coffee in this neck of the woods. I stopped by this AM while out for Qurbani in this neck of the woods nearby and they brewed me a fresh pot of their roast which was AMAZING! The hand-crafted coffees are pretty amazing as well and so are their pastries! I also loved the ambiance of the coffee shop, lots of sitting area unfortunately I couldn’t stay to enjoy maybe I’ll be back someday….

I was in Crystal Lake at an appointment, Aroma came highly recommended by the office staff. I was very pleased with this experience! The place is SO cute, comfortable furniture is in the front (bring a book), tables line the walls and rear of the space with a countertop perfect for some computer work. They have breakfast and lunch menus, coffee of all sorts and plenty of wine! The food was outstanding as was the wine. Everyone was so sweet and helpful. I can’t wait to take myself back here for a little lunch date.
Don’t forget to stop in a few doors down at Kalck’s Butcher Shop, another great place I found when leaving Aroma’s.

I absolutely love the atmosphere here – it’s warm, inviting, and the perfect spot to relax. The coffee is always top-notch, and I especially appreciate how you can fully customize every drink to your liking. The food is equally impressive, with the oatmeal being my personal favorite – it’s comforting and delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly and always makes me feel welcome, whether I’m visiting with friends for a coffee catch-up or flying solo to get some work done. I haven’t had the chance to try their evening menu yet, but it’s definitely on my list for next time!

This was our first time trying this place, and while it started off well with a great caramel macchiato, the rest of the experience was disappointing. My coworker paid over $15 for a salad that was missing one of its main ingredients—the rustic spring leaf mix. It only had spinach.
When I called to let them know, the only resolution they offered was for us to come back and pick up the missing greens. Since our lunch break was already over, that wasn’t an option. They didn’t offer a refund, a replacement, or any kind of compensation for the incomplete meal. Even after I asked.
It’s frustrating to pay full price and not receive a complete menu item, especially when the only solution offered is inconvenient and unrealistic during a workday. We won’t be returning.

The coffee selections are both beautiful and delicious. This is the perfect spot to catch up on work, chat with a friend, or get together in the evening over a glass of wine. Dawn and the rest of her staff make this place a gem!

Was searching for a local coffee shop, where i could relax and sit for a bit without feeling rushed. Aroma came up as a suggestion, and am I THRILLED I tried it. Absolutely precious little cafe for not just coffee but wines and snacks.
The atmosphere is friendly and cozy. The playlist couldn’t be any better for a “mature” audience. And the coffee and wine choices are eclectic and varied.
Those will most definitely be a routine visit.
You’d be very happy to give it a try. Aroma will NOT disappoint.

Aroma is a great little coffee and wine bar for a quick meet and greet or a latte. I enjoyed seeing light foods from the kitchen with plenty of leafy greens. The place has an upscale aesthetic.
It definitely feels more like a “chick” place. It had a yoga sessions the night I was there, and it is attached to a salon. However, I’m a guy that spent plenty of time there and felt very comfortable. Staff is all very friendly and they seem to know most of the regulars.
Stop in for a coffee and a pastry and I’m sure you’ll enjoy yourself.

I came in with my wife and ordered two drinks to enjoy there, and we were served two drinks in to-go cups instead. I ordered a flat white, and was given a 16 ounce to-go cup full to the top with milk and a splash of coffee, probably not even espresso. If you can’t or won’t make coffee drinks thenway they’re supposed to be made, don’t put them on your menu. I felt so insulted that I left without my “coffee”. Don’t waste your time or money
