Great coffee shop. Every table was filled. Coffee is good (better than Starbucks, but not on the level of those hipster craft places). Got the chicken salad, it was tasty.

Just wanted to grab coffee between appointments and hide behind my computer. I love Jen Todrick from HGTV and thought it would be fine to check out hers and Mike’s business. I loved the decor, atmosphere, and menu. There was even a glassed in room for private meetings, and guess who was there? MIKE! It was a fun stop and hope to grab lunch next time. Definitely a worthy drop by for coffee, snack, or a meal.

Went to the drive thru. I thought let’s try something new today. Ordered a decaf Carmel macciato with oat milk. Not hard, right? WRONG! I get to the window and the total is almost 7.00 for a small. No problem, but it was iced and I never asked for that. They did a remake and it was caffeinated. So, apparently they remade it again and it was a latte not a macciato. In all honesty, if I wanted a latte I could have gotten a cheaper and better one from starbucks. I literallyleft an island and had a better macciato than I’veever had in the States. So much for moving away from bigger brands to smaller ones. Please do better, pay attention to people’s orders when paying 7.00 for a small cup of coffee. Wth…

☕️✨ Coffee, Cocoa & Sibling Catch-ups — A Mini Adventure! ✨☕️

So today, my New Yorker sister and I set off toward Whole Foods, ready for a cozy coffee fix… until we realized their coffee spot shuts down after 1 p.m. No worries though—we rerouted and crossed from Fairview into Allen, landing at the ever-charming Armor Coffee!

This was my second time at Armor (first time was with my twin sister ‍♀️), and I’m still loving the vibe! It’s warm, stylish, and has a welcoming setup that invites you to stay a while. There’s even a little meeting room tucked away—I’m guessing it’s reserved for exclusive gatherings or secret society meetings… or both.

Last time I sipped on a latte, but today I went bold with their special hot chocolate —and oh wow, it was the hit! My sister went classic with a regular coffee ☕️, and we couldn’t resist splitting a chocolate muffin too (because… balance, right? ).

While catching up, we spiraled into a conversation about NYC coffee shops—those quirky, bustling gems I totally miss—and dreamed a little about Collin County stepping up its café game. Big city vibes might just be brewing here soon with so many folks moving in. ️

If you’re ever around, do yourself a favor and try the hot cocoa. It’s a liquid hug in a mug.

Until next time… ✌️

We were visiting family so we thought we’d try it. In short, we found the food quality and taste doesn’t match the coffee. The tiramisu and butter cookie coffees were amazing. The black coffee was good-but-not-great. The Belgian waffles were also good-but-not-great.

The staff and the atmosphere were excellent so that also helped make up for the “meh” food.

If you’re passing through or live near Allen, this is a great place for FLAVORED coffee drinks. Hands down—fantastic drinks. If you get food, it’s because you’re there and hungry enough to try it out. The quality of the food was good but, again, it was just fine.

I’d argue the drinks are better than Starbucks—if for no other reason, because they’re different. If you come for a drink, you won’t leave upset. Really great little spot. And props to the veteran ownership. Didn’t ask if they do military discount but they might. Worth asking!

I don’t usually write reviews but after going here- I would like to put a reflective note out for staff and management team of Armor cafe:

I had a ridiculous experience here that could’ve been avoided with basic common sense and customer awareness.

I ordered a sandwich and a pastry. The pastry was brought out first, hot initially, but by the time the sandwich was ready it had turned completely soggy. If a sandwich is going to take a while, it makes no sense to serve the pastry first. Serve the sandwich then warm and bring the pastry so it’s enjoyable. No one eats dessert before their main course.

When I brought the soggy scone back and asked for a new one, I watched the server take it back and place the bag – with the soggy scone in it- in the microwave and brought it back out. Common sense tells you that doesn’t fix the problem. If for example- you microwaved soggy tater tots- it wouldn’t make it crunchy and fresh again, would it? I had to awkwardly explain that I asked for a new one- this server then told me that they grab it from a fridge and microwave it anyway. But thats the thing. It’s fresh and crisp one time after you first prep it. Bringing it to microwave it again after it’s gone soggy does not bring that quality back- as said before. I had to explain that to her and eventually she went back and got a fresh one made and there was another woman with her who gave it to me but had a facial expression of annoyance- most likely because I interrupted her flirt session with a customer she’s been with the whole time while I waited for my sandwich.

No one should feel like a burden for asking for basic customer service or a properly served item. This whole encounter isn’t about being picky- it’s about logic, service flow, and respect. I hope whomever manages this team can take a note of this and train their staff to do better on service and attitude.

My hazelnut latte was very good, they didn’t have soy milk but the whole milk was still very good. The atmosphere was a modern industrial with warm wood notes. My only criticism would be that the chairs were probably the most uncomfortable I’ve sat in. However if you’re on the go as many of us are then the coffee was very good and atmosphere had a wow feel.

Slightly under extracted coffee but definitely worth getting and so much better than Starbucks

I really wanted to love this place, I had heard good things and the fact they have a drive through is appealing, but to be honest I was disappointed. I got the London fog and it just wasn’t very flavorful. I got the tropical smoothie for my 4 year old and it tasted so weak/watery. He was immediately disappointed. The coffee my sister got tasted much better so I would definitely recommend sticking with coffee on their menu if you go.
The service was also just a little lacking – the member taking our order wasn’t very friendly or helpful and my friends/family with me said they had the same impression. (One of the other baristas working there was more friendly so maybe it’s just inconsistent.)
The interior was cute, that’s the most I really have to say for it unfortunately. I usually give an easy five stars to businesses but with this one I just can’t honestly recommend it. There are so many other amazing cafes in the area, and I would say I would even prefer Starbucks over it.
Maybe I’ll give it another chance later and update if I have a better experience.
