Armin and Judy is an iconic piece of the Hamptons food scene. Have eaten here more than once over the years, and did again 2 days ago. It’s a relaxed place to visit with simple decoration, nice bar, and it attempts to emulate the simple French bistro menu. Behind the restaurant is a bakery, offering various breads including baguette and olive boule, viennoiseries (croissants, pain au chocolat, etc), and sundry specialty items such as olive from unassuming places, such as Albania.
There is a lovely outdoor seating area surrounded by beautiful nature, mainly trees and a pond. A chicken coop of beautiful hens resembling Rhoda Island Reds and a separate coop for what appear to be Chinese cockerels, is nearby, and nice for children to see.
The pastries miss the mark for me, but worth a try for others. I prefer my Viennese items butterier, flakier and less chewy.
On the main menu is an AWESOME tuna and olive salad, containing giant beans, capers, sun dried tomatoes and the perfect taste of Mediterranean goodness for a summer day (or any day!)
Keep in mind the Hamptons is not a cheap place to eat, but I’d say the value at Armin and Judy is slightly under par for portions to pricing. I ordered quiche, which came with a side salad, for over $20. I was expecting “a quiche.” What I got was a slice of quiche…
Go check it out. It’s definitely a good place, sure to provide something to everyone in your party’s fancy.
Their happy hour to their dinner service menu. Truly a gem
After returning to my car and taking a sip of the latte, I realized my drink had also been made incorrectly. I believe instead of two pumps of caramel she made me two lattes. Given the multiple errors with my order, I felt compelled to leave this review.
I have never had to wait long on line to order anything in the two years that I have been coming here. The line moves that fast!
