Been coming here after work on Mondays with bossman for the last few months for a beer & bite. Great pizzas and Ashley is the best bartender around. Pours a mean pint of Guinness. Never ruins it by leaving it to settle for too long. Look forward to going every week.

We have been wanting to visit this place for a while now and we got a chance to try it out today to go watch the Pats game. I was so excited to go try this place, my fiancé bought me a gift card.

We sat down and were immediately accosted by the insane volume of the commercials blaring between plays, it felt like it was supposed to be a jarring experience that mimics being at Gillete stadium. The noise fluctuated between power washer and silence, and was briefly replaced by imagine dragons which honestly is not much better.

All that aside, we ordered drinks, and two appetizers. The appetizers were missing elements of importance such as dressing on the Caesar salad and blue cheese for the pork wings. No big deal, easy to fix. We pressed on and ordered two sandwiches.

The reuben was fantastic, no complaints, honestly amazing.

The Sriracha fish wrap was uninspired & devoid of any sort of flavor, care, and funny enough, sriracha. It was the definition of mid, and it wouldn’t take much more time / effort to actually make it decent for this menu. My fiancé took a bite of the wrap, made a face, I proceeded to try the wrap, and made the same face. We set that aside to make sure it was returned, and we split the reuben.

At this point, the server stopped by and we told them about the wrap, they said no problem, and took the wrap away. We did not see the server for the rest of the night, and did not end up getting any refills to deal with the intense volume. It was so loud we were laughing and couldn’t even hear each other from across the table. Our original plan was to have a few drinks and get desert as well (looking at you desert apple pizza) but we didn’t make it that far.

We got the bill, and the fish wrap was still present on the final tab. I asked if this could be removed, and was met with a blank stare, followed by, and I quote… “Uhhh you did kinda eat it though, sooo”… WE ONLY TOOK TWO BITES! The server was unmoved, and just walked away with our credit card, and actually my phone as well which had the gift card on it. That was a first for me having to hand my unlocked phone over to a stranger but hey, it’s Bellingham right?

At this point, the thought of waiting for a manager to come over and actually deal with the situation properly was lunacy, due to the now blaring lung cancer commercial with a guy coughing for 2 minutes straight, I know its not their fault but it absolutely didn’t help the situation. We paid and left.

We are pretty reasonable folk, and we totally understand the need to charge for food that was enjoyed/eaten, but sadly that was not the case tonight. We only ended up trying a portion of the menu, and did not try the pizza, but it is hard to recommend coming back here solely based on the service alone.

A few other fun items to note…

When we asked for curry sauce with our fries, our server seemed hesitant to want to upsell us on this, stating multiple times it would cost extra. We persisted and assured them we are able to pay the extra 2$. Curry sauce was really good so glad we broke through.

Speaking of curry sauce, another server came out and told us our “soup” was ready, and we thought they were at the wrong table. But no, this was the curry, with a side of oyster crackers interestingly enough. Again, curry itself was hot and delicious, but I have a feeling that the wait staff at this restaurant are really not trained well / don’t go to restaurants themselves so are unsure of how to act. I love experiencing people’s first day on earth.

Truly, I think this restaurant can be a great place, and we are saddened about our experience, as we love Irish influenced food and supporting local business. We want to try again, but we will need to give it quite some time. Maybe not on a Sunday during the football season… If I wanted to listen to the TV on max volume while watching the patriots, I would just hang out with my father in law in the living room.

To the owner, the first thing you have to get right in an Irish Pub is the Guinness. I’ll be back when you have an Imperial Proper Pint even your excellent bartender said that everyone always asks for them. Everything else there is great hence the 4 stars
