We went for our anniversary dinner and had a truly memorable meal. Cocktails were strong and on point. For appetizers, we shared the cheese board and the uni. both were outstanding. The uni is small, but you get so much punch in each bite. The cheese board came with so many little accoutrements that made it fun and special to try different combinations. I could see coming back and just ordering a bunch of apps – it was difficult to choose!

My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is incredible. The service is amazing. Every time we are there the manager goes out of his way to check in on our experience. There is no way to put into words the experience of dining at this restaurant. Yes, the service is amazing, as expected. The ambiance is quaint, rural, farmhouse chic, as expected. But the food…each and every bite is layered with incredible flavor. It is fresh, and sophisticated, but it still wraps you in a hometown hug. I’ll be back…again and again..

Our recent experience at Arethusa Farms left us extremely disappointed due to the poor service we received throughout our meal. The most frustrating aspect was the excessive wait time we endured between the starting course and the arrival of our entrees. Hours seemed to drag on, and to make matters worse, there was not a single apology or acknowledgement from the staff regarding the delay. It was as if our time was of little importance to them.

Arethusa is known for their dairy, so it’s not far off the mark to say “Holy Cow!” about this restaurant. From the decor to the service to the food, everything was perfection from left to right and top to bottom. My friend who took me to this restaurant decided he wanted to create his own tasting menu, and our server was so generous about making sure the order of our “courses” made sense and were thematically cohesive. Each dish was better than the last, and all the food was outstanding. Some places focus on presentation and (useless) creativity over flavor but this place seriously hits it out of the park on all accounts. Reservations can be hard to get for this restaurant but it’s definitely worth it.

Arethusa had to be one of the most well curated and high end restaurants in all of Connecticut. The atmosphere was lively but not too crowded, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was phenomenal. I had a sirloin dish that was cooked perfectly to medium-rare, and they could have re-used the plate because it was CLEAN by the time I was done with my meal.
