I wanted to love this place because the empanadas are delicious, but I can’t overlook what I saw. While waiting for my order, I sat at the bar and watched the kitchen prep. Everything looked like it was previously frozen. I watched a lady bring my churrasco out on a spatula to reheat it on the flat top It seemed to be previously cooked and just reheated, which resulted in the meat being dry and ‘tougher than a tire.
Even worse, I watched a staff member eating an egg with one gloved hand while mixing a pot of meat with the other. This is a huge hygiene red flag. This lack of food safety is why I’m giving 2 stars. To top it off, the prices don’t match the website, the vibe is depressing, and the cachapa tasted like a plain corn pancake.

This place is great for the food. The place has no change in more than 15 years to the point to question of they ever break anything there.
Food and people are fantastic is just that the place is not updated in many years.

This is the first arepera where I’m served a plain cheese arepa that’s not even melted. 2 cheese arepa for $25.45 is heinous.

Brought these home and air fried them until melted.

The only reason I went to this restaurant is because it was the only place open near me after midnight, but honestly if it bothers the workers so much to work at the time just change the hours because I’d rather find somewhere else to go than having to deal with somebody’s attitude at that time. Also, $24 dollars for a capacha and a soda is absolutely criminal, specially taking into account that the food was not only room temperature but mid at best, oh and let’s not forget the dirty tables. Please, make yourself a favor and find any other Venezuelan restaurant since there are so many other good ones worth your time and money.

Super sweet and patient staff!! The food was yummy and for good price. We got arepas and empanadas. Their salsas they offer on the side were also yummy. Everything tasted fresh, we can’t wait to go back again.

$33 for one arepa and chachapa is criminal. Do better please..

We’re going for Puerto Rican food now down the street to fill up.

If you’re in love with sauces then this spot is arepa heaven. Pick a traditional or house special, you can’t do wrong. It’s not the classiest joint but that’s not what you came here for. The staff was super friendly!

Extremely disappointing experience at La Nueva Arepera. The service is unacceptably slow, and the attitude from the staff makes it even worse. The biggest issue? If you go to buy Venezuelan empanadas, be prepared to wait — they don’t have them ready! In Venezuela, empanada shops always have them fresh and ready to go, but here you must wait for them to cook them. That’s just unacceptable for a takeout spot. Definitely do not recommend this place.

Good taste. But they are going over with the prices 2 empanadas and an Indian malt $15. And the problem is not only the price, the small size they offer is also an abuse. I hope they improve that detail to the public.

I have tried several Venezuelan spots since moving to the Orlando area and by far this is my favorite!! I had the arepa with everything, it had shredded chicken some shrimp, also had potatoes and cheese among other things, it was packed and very satisfying…It was so delicious! Paired with the passion fruit juice it was BOMB!!
definitely will return when I’m in the area.
