My boyfriend and I have been coming to Area509 for the last few years and we absolutely love it! The food is always amazing and the staff is very kind! Our first time trying their food was at the Oshkosh Farmers Market at their food truck, and we were wowed then. We now go into the restaurant and love how friendly everyone is and how passionate they are about their food! Both the pork and chicken meals were so tender and flavorful. The plantains were perfectly cooked, with the perfect level of crisp. If you are near Appleton, this is a must try!

Area 509 ! Woah!
Husband and I havnt gone out in a bit and have been wanting to try restaurant Area 509 for a while. Finally got to try it for dinner tonight and everything about it was a 10/10!!!!
I had the pork Ti Bol and my husband ordered the Mango Lime Chicken Meal with the sides of Rice and beans, Jerk Mac and cheese, and the Acra (fried plantains) and we shared. Food came out hot and packed with flavor. The mango lime chicken was fall off the bone tender and paired well with the beans and rice. The Mac n cheese was creamy and had a nice kick after. The pork was juicy and tender as well. We both couldn’t stop talking about how great the food was the entire time we ate. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
The owners came out and were warm and welcoming. 10/10 This is a must try. (This photo is after we have already dug in).

Friends, go visit this hole in the wall. Seriously great food. No fake salty sauces, no pre-made crap. THIS IS REAL FOOD and it’s amazing! We will come back for sure. We split the pictured items between two of us and it was perfect. The oxtail and pikliz were the highlights for me. Just delicious. I’ve had fried plantains before but these were perfect. A very satisfying meal. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Wanted to try the goat but they were out…was extremely happy with the oxtail as a substitute for my craving.

If this is Haitian cuisine, sign me up! Just walking in, you could smell how great this meal was going to be, and I was not disappointed.
Area509 is a quaint, over-the-counter diner that serves Haitian fare with a small indoor dining area, but a large outdoor patio that includes covered/uncovered sections and room for entertainment.
They also have several food trucks with rallies and live music throughout the summer.
Their food is something you start eating and can’t stop (until you’re way too full). Everything was seasoned to perfection. The Mac was rich and creamy. The Pikliz will knock your socks off if you don’t know what you’re getting into. But my perfect bite was the Oxtail paired with the Beans and Rice. Mixing and mactching Mains and Sides really made it hard to stop eating.
The Oxtail Meal was $25, but it was probably 2lbs of food! Certainly enough for two people.
THIS SHOULD BE ON YOUR GO-TO LIST!

The restaurant may look no frills but flavors are NOT lacking! I have loved everything tried so far. We all order something different and share: ox tail, shrimp, pork mac, jerk chicken, rice, akra, and plantains. Worth the drive from green bay. If we lived closer I’d be here all the time!

The food was pretty good. It was spicy but I’m assuming maybe that’s just part of the way Caribbean food is. Portions were good sized as well. I didn’t try any of the jerk food. I had the ox tail and we also had the meaty mac

Food was delicious. Even just the beans and rice were outstanding. The spices were perfect. The portions were really big and that’s good because I was really hungry. Everything was So tasty and we will be back. I left one star off for atmosphere because they are not quite finished putting everything together inside but it’s very cute and has a lot of potential!

I’ve driven past this place probably a thousand times before managing to stop in.
The food was AMAZING! The girl behind the counter was excellent at describing unknown foods to us and making recommendations based off our conversation. If I could rate this better, I would!

A wonderful surprise tucked away in Appleton. We were greeted with a smile right when we walked in the door. The food was fantastic. We tried two dishes; the Mango Lime Chicken Meal and Jerk Chicken Sandwich. The portion for the meal was huge. I only ate half (my husband ate the rest). The meal came with three sides. We chose the beet salad (cool and refreshing), rice and beans, and creamy, gooey jerk mac n’ cheese. The chicken thighs were flavorful and fell off the bone. So tender! The rice was perfectly cooked. All of the food was delicous. The jerk chicken sandwich was spicy, while still having great flavor. We didn’t save room for rum cake, but if the dessert is anywhere near as good as the entrees, we will have to try it next time! Four stars for the atmosphere because the place is quaint and still getting some finishing touches put into place. It was clean and inviting overall.
