Here’s a polished, complete review you can use:

Delicious Latin American cuisine! The Honduran fried chicken is legit. Also recommend the yucca balls and empanadas.
Area 337 is one of those rare spots where every plate feels homemade and full of heart. The flavors are bold without being overwhelming, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in keeping things authentic. Portions are generous, and everything we tried came out hot, crisp, and perfectly seasoned.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming—exactly the kind of place where you want to sit down, slow down, and enjoy good food with good people. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering, and the staff seemed genuinely happy to share their culture through the menu.

If you’re craving something different from the usual options in the area, Area 337 is absolutely worth the stop. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

It is one of my favorite restaurants in Lake Charles. I wish we had a place like this when I was growing up here, but I am glad we have it now. They take dishes from different Latin and put their own twist on them. This gives flavor combinations that are incredible. One of the owners guided me through the menu and how the dishes were inspired. I told him before I left that from the Mojito to the Tres leches and everything in between. All hits, no misses.

Fun and festive atmosphere and the best staff we have come across. The food was absolutely amazing and we cant wait to return and try more. The Latino fried cheese was sooo tasty especially with the guava dipping sauce. We ordered the build your own plates with fried pork chunks (melt in your mouth tender), grandma’s rice, and salad. Along with the whole fried red snapper, grandma’s rice, and steamed veggies. We will definitely be spreading the word on this restaurant!!

Great experience at this is in restaurant. The flavor was there everything was fried just right and the drinks were as good as they looked. If your in the area and want authentic Latin food this should be on top of the list! I went with the Vaca Frita w/ grandma style rice and I couldn’t get enough!!!

This is our go-to for gluten-free food when in Lake Charles. They have a dog friendly patio too! We got the Smothered chicken corn empanadas, pabellon arepa, blondie arepa, and both the mozzarella and ground beef yucca balls. We did each take Gluten Ease pill, just in case, and had no gluten reactions.

The food was not just good — it was amazing! The service matched the quality of the food perfectly. Thank you, Torry, for the attention and excellent service. Torry and the rest of the team worked seamlessly together.
We had the oxtail and grandma’s rice, empanadas, mofongo, and ceviche. I honestly can’t tell you what I liked best — every bite was a party in my mouth!
I will definitely be back. Thank you for an awesome experience!

I had the chilaquiles. Seasoned too hot for me! Current wife had the Cuban sandwich which was pretty good . Good service by Tori.

This place is a gem!! Was in town for the weekend and needed picnic style food for lunch and decided to try some takeout handhelds based on other reviews. My family has 3 gluten intolerant members and the four of us were so impressed we had to go back for a sit down dinner! Our server (Devin) was very helpful, knowledgeable about the menu, and very patient making sure everyone’s food allergy’s were handled properly. The food was fresh and all seemed made from scratch and everything we had was very delicious. Wish we had one of these locally!

Absolutely incredible! The food was amazing, the Grandma Style Rice (Mampostiao) was delicious, the sweet plantains cooked with the peppers and pork belly mixed with the rice was one of the best rice dishes I’ve ever had, my husband enjoyed the yucca ball with beef, and you can NOT skip the Sweet Plantains! Not only was the food incredible, the service staff was incredibly attentive and took great care of everyone in the group we were with. But what really sets this place apart is the owner, Gus, he made a point to check on everything and stopped by to visit throughout our time in his incredible restaurant. Make time to visit Area 337, you will not regret it!

My favorite spot in Lake Charles !!

The food here is so tasty. The flavor comes first.

Grandmas dirty rice is just amazing. The best kind of comfort rice.

The empanadas are standard, so good and the cilantro sauce is drinkable.

My entree / plate was so diverse with flavors yet paired so well together. Nothing here was greasy!

Tres leches to end was the best way to do it all!
