Archipelago was a great weeknight dinner with friends which, while delicious, I felt fell short in the message and value proposition.

From start to finish, service was phenomenal – with personalized attention, helpful suggestions, and kind conversation. The restaurant’s atmosphere was similarly pleasant and intimate, with limited space which made the 2 daily seatings make more sense. And finally: each dish we tried ranged from quite good to absolutely delicious, and our table really enjoyed the option for second servings later depending on your stomach full-ness.

However, I am declining to rate this a 5/5 due to a disconnect in the message told during the dinner and it’s ultimate issue of price. The stories told during the meal are presented intentionally and will pause the meal/conversation to be presented. I found it difficult to reconcile the message of struggle, fight, and origin from various perspectives to the extremely affluent meal we were enjoying which was was priced as such.

Frankly, our meal at Archipelago was priced at the levels of 1 or 2 star Michelin meals we’ve enjoyed in San Francisco, Chicago, etc. The experience at Archipelago did not match that quality and I do not believe it was worth the price tag – especially when married with a message that felt incongruent.

Awesome service, atmosphere, and dishes. Misaligned message and ultimately pricing. 4/5 stars.

Probably my favorite restaurant in Seattle. Everything is delicious, intentional, and precise. The combinations of flavors make perfect sense but you’d never think of them on your own. The creativity of the whole team is on display every time I visit.

It’s incredibly intimate, so you’ll get to know all the chefs and servers well by the end of the meal. Perhaps my favorite part of the meal is when the staff asks us to rate our hunger on a scale of 1 to 5, adjusting the portion size of the final savory course accordingly to ensure we aren’t overly full for dessert. And even if you get your number a little wrong, they’ll come back through with seconds or thirds to make sure you don’t leave hungry.

If you aren’t into alcohol, I’d highly recommend the juice pairing!

Truly one of the best dining experiences of my life! I can’t recommend it highly enough.

A truly special dining experience, with creative, experimental dishes thoughtfully paired with storytelling. My husband and I loved the stories and the attentiveness of the servers and chefs, though it was occasionally a bit hard to hear. The food was spectacular, and with the locally sourced wine pairings, dinner for two comes to around $1000.

The idea is to compare Archipelago to other tasting menus like Altira, Canlis, Juanita etc. For us, the experience was just not worth the price. We shelled out almost $900 (for 2). Too much focus on trying to integrate Fillipino history with the dining experience. The quality of food was not even close to Altura. Quantity was abysmal as well. Feedback – less talk. Focus on the food please. We are there to eat – not listen to stories.

It was wonderful experience to have a birthday dinner at Archipelago. Foods are made with seasonal ingredients, and they were really good.
The atmosphere was cozy and warm, and all the crews were so knowledgeable about the menu and gave amazing explanations.

The Archipelago experience includes elevated Pinoy cuisine with expert storytelling. The most memorable part of the meal for me was the service. The noodle and some of the vegetable side dishes were great. Everything else was okay. They offer an interesting collection of Pacific NW wines as well.

What an experience to have!! Thought was put into every course, every ingredient, every explanation, every paired drink. Everything! To say the service was excellent is an understatement. Absolutely fabulous people working together to give you a upper class experience. They only take reservations. Max occupancy is 12.

Lovely total experience. Many small courses with unusual local ingredients and a palette that is complex and intriguing. The staff is warm, friendly and attentive. Each course is dedicated to various Phillipino historical figures from the area. The interior is warm and inviting with a sophisticated simplicity. A choice of wine or juice pairings is included. We chose the juices and they were unique and did indeed pair well with individual dishes.

We went to Archipelago on a weekday for dinner, it was definitely special. All the dishes here were full of creativity and presented aesthetic. Combinations of various ingredients and spices brought out the unique texture and tastes, especially a plate called Salvador Del Fierro. We didn’t expect the savory sauce mixed with rich chocolate and spice balanced well with prawns and vegetables. We enjoyed hearing all the historical stories and inspirations behind each creative dish. As for the price, it’s surely on the expensive side, but for the special occasion, this restaurant is a good option.

Flawless execution of dishes and service. They were so careful about my pregnancy restrictions and I never even had to ask if anything was safe for me. They were so friendly and welcoming and of course we so enjoyed the food, that, in many aspects, were brand new flavors for me.
The dishes were bold and creative, yet found a way to be nostalgic in some ways to me. What a wonderful place, I hope to return to again and again.
