Updated review: I’ve long wondered about other reviewers who talk about the poor customer service here, but I experienced it in full force today. My husband asked for BBQ sauce in a packet. Which they’ve been selling for years (and still do). The owner of the place wanted to both argue him down, laugh in his face about it, and then push past him because he was evidently done with helping. Only to find out when husband complained upon leaving that the sauce in question does exist and is in arm’s reach. Owner was very rude, condescending, unprofessional, and clearly not interested in keeping regulars who have long praised and defended this establishment and recommended it to others. We will not be back, which is a shame, because we enjoy the food. But don’t enjoy being treated poorly over some sauce and someone else being wrong. And they wanted to charge him for the incorrect sauce they forced on him in the first place. It was wild and I’ve never seen anything like it.

Old review: Despite what some other reviews have said – about price, service, and the food itself – my husband and I have eaten here a few times and have had great experiences both times. The servers are always polite and attentive, and the one time we’ve had an issue with not liking something, they not only dealt with it gracefully, but didn’t charge us for the item in question. Our drinks stay filled, and our food is out super quick no matter how busy they are. Their chopped barbecue and the BBQ slaw are delicious, as well as their fries, hush puppies, hot dogs, and cheeseburgers. The prices are in fact reasonable, especially compared to what you’d pay at similar restaurants in Lexington. The food is simple, but done well. Laid back atmosphere that has a small town diner quality to it, and we always enjoy our meals here.

$14.50 for a chicken club with no side and a drink is insane. 3.29 up charge for three pieces of bacon is wild. And .99 cent for one old pale looking tomato and .99 for a pinch of lettuce is crazy. They put fries in my bag and when I told the waitress that I didn’t order it she shrugged and said “whatever” place is trash and should’ve stayed closed after Covid. Y’all suck and your waitress needs to check her attitude. If not for being a work day I would’ve launched this sandwich at the window.

I don’t normally take the time to leave reviews but this place deserves some honest recognition. After being diagnosed with social anxiety I find it difficult to go to places I’m unfamiliar with. As soon as I entered into the dining area I was greeted with a welcoming hello and a warm smile. My food arrived quick, wrapped neatly, food not over or under cooked. The surrounding room was peaceful and I felt I could eat at ease. Don’t even get me started on them having the GOOD ICE. I enjoyed my meal and the company of the staff. I made sure to leave an appropriate tip and was even waved goodbye when exiting. Truly felt I wasn’t being judged, I wasn’t being a burden. The staff actually took care and pride in their work. Rather making the food or waiting my table. I value a great service like this.

I go here often and have for years. Since they reopened, they have charged me a different amount each time. This morning ordered same order and charged almost $8 for half cup of eggs and 2 pieces of bacon. When opened the bag the container was opened and food in bottom of bag. Called spoke with Brittany who identified herself as a manager and was very rude and dismissive and basically said Oh well. Did not offer to make it right or even apologize. Sad but I will not go back here again.

Great food and prices,, waitresses were nice. I was glad to see them be able to open back up. However they really need to say something to guys in the back about their language,, yelling the f word to others in the back isn’t what I want to hear while waiting on my food. Yes I’ll go back ( love the tenderloin biscuits.. Lol)but maybe through the drive through especially if I have my kids with me .

Not worth the money. Bacon was limp… I asked for crispy. I asked for extra bacon and was charged for it, but I did not get it. It was a bunch more expensive than before they closed. They seem like they are angry that the business did not sell for the ridiculous price they were asking for when they closed, and they had to open back up and are taking it out on the customers. BBQ Joe’s or BBQ Shack are so much better!!

Got the BBQ chopped plate for lunch. Service was fast and friendly. The BBQ was extremely heavy on the vinegar and hot sauce, couldn’t even taste the pork or smoke. I understand some people like this but I’m not one of them. Portion sizes were good and it was inexpensive.

I go thru drive thru always have. The tenderloin biscuits are still the best from all the rest around, but the opening hours are rediculous, closing at 3pm n 11am on a Saturday means you have to go get a supper order so very early n I was not at all impressed with the chopped BBQ plate. We used to get them weekly. Since being re opened by what I can gather are new owners the BBQ plate was severely dissapointing. There was over cooked hush puppies that were so hard you could not even eat them, the BBQ itself had no sauce or flavor to it n barely enough in the take out container to cover the bottom of the section for it. They filled the container with fries that were cold n over cooked I basically paid the 9 or 10$ per plate for over cooked fries n rock like hush puppies. I was so looking forward to the re opening of Archdale BBQ, n had been going weekly before the closure. Now it is usually on a Saturday morning for the tenderloin biscuits my wife loves, that is if I finnish work in time. However I do not believe I will be eating from there again. I know once restaurants change owners that somethings do change but the prices went up and the quality of food went down. It just goes to show how much better a place is run when it is the original owner wanting to keep their customers happy n take pride in presentation and actual value for your customer’s hard earned money. This is one LONG time customer that will not be returning.

I’ve given the reopened ‘version ‘ of this restaurant 2 tries. I understand costs have gone up but to charge $3 for a hotdog is a little extreme. Lunch should not cost $15 when drinking water. The wait staff constantly complains about the other employees and if you aren’t a regular you are ignored.

This was our first time here. I have to say that we loved it! If you want a Hot Dog or BBQ tray with BBQ Slaw you should definitely stop in and try them out. They are open Monday thru Friday 10 am to 2 pm and Saturday 6 am to 11 am.
