Arcata Pizza and Deli is such an Arcata stable. It has been around as long as I can remember. They’re open late night and always have the best food. This is no chain restaurant. This is local soul food. They always have amazing specials. Their garlic fries are a true garlic fries, you got raw chopped garlic on top of your fries. You will smell like garlic for at least three days, which is what I’m looking for when I order garlic fries LOVE LOVE LOVE them at APD

The food is exceptional and the portions VERY generous. The pizza slice was bigger than my sons face! Always friendly laid back staff and clean inside. The quality has stayed the same since I was last there 15 years ago! A favorite for a great meal

Impressed! Always hear about how great it is finally made it out to lunch was excellent. Clean, friendly and excellent food. Highly recommend. All the food tastes fresh and made in house. Go here you won’t be disappointed. I had the chicken club. Was huge and excellent.

Always a great spot for a meal. One of my favorite late night spots but I wish they were open later! The service is good, but be aware that everything is fresh and can take a bit to come out. I personally think APD has the best pizza in Humboldt County (and no where else even comes close). It can be a little pricey but it’s worth it for a good meal.

The garlic cheese fries here are so loaded and delicious. The veggie burger is highly recommended for vegetarian options and my girlfriend loves the regular burgers here. I would highly recommend the pizza too.

I love this place! I used to eat here all the time when I went to college in Humboldt County (HSU) and the pizza is just as good now as it was then! The staff here are super friendly and very helpful in helping you explore different pizza options. I love that there is outdoor seating available and this a good selection of beers on tap. A+++

What the heck happened to their Margherita pie?? I’ve always really enjoyed APD’s Margherita pie—and appreciate that this is one of the relatively uncommon joints where it’s even a menu offering—but this looks absolutely NOTHING like the advertised photo (picture #2) nor comparable to anything I’ve received in various past orders here. The tomatoes here are thick, uncooked, and seemingly thrown on top as afterthoughts, while the cheese slices look laughably cheap and hardly cover a cumulative ~60% of the pizza. You missed a spot, y’all!
At the very least, the experience wasn’t entirely inoffensive thanks to the still well-crafted crust (though it’s plausible to worry when they’ll cut corners on this, too) and natural pleasant potency of fresh basil… these ingredients will always go well together even at their worst, but that’s a really unfortunate way to feel about a $40 delivery from a (formerly) reputable local favorite!!
If this is how APD does their pizza now… fine, I guess, but I certainly would have considered my patronage differently had I known. This just isn’t the standard I’ve come to expect from APD.
Guess it’s time to hunt down a new favorite Margherita pie 🙁

Great food. Visited with my family. All 7 of us loved eating here. We had fish and chips, sandwiches and pizza. The tomato basil soup was worthy of 5 Michelin stars! Great vibes inside. Truly a lost coast authentic eatery.
