What a fabulous Italian restaurant! The food was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. Every bite felt like a little trip to Italy. Arancino Kyoto offers a nice atmosphere and good Italian flavors. The food quality was okay and generally enjoyable. However, the portion sizes felt quite small compared to the prices. It’s a pleasant place, but I wish the servings were more generous for what you pay.

If I could give 10 stars for service I would! Our waiter was so attentive and the chef explained all the menu items to us. Highly recommend the wagyu and fish of the day, grilled mackerel.

This is a fine dining place so dress appropriately. My partner and I came in our sporty hiking clothes because we had been sightseeing all day. We felt so underdressed and inappropriate but the staff were very nice. They never made us feel bad or out of place. The uni spaghetti was unique, creamy and tasty. The focaccia bread was so soft and tasty.

After a few days in Japan, we were wanting something a little bit closer to home. The food here was delicious with a fusion style to the food and we went for the lunch slot which is about 40% cheaper than evening with a pared down menu but still allows you to try some signature dishes.
Nibbles: Olive oil that came with the bread was really good and breads verh soft. The parmesan crisp bread could have done with more cheese flavour
Starter: Seasonal carpaccio, lovely flavours in particular the citrus fruit which added a nice touch to the fish. Charcoal lasagne also delicious.
Primo: Definitely go for the uni pasta, rich and more-ish and good pasta work.
Secondi: Pork loin and Wagyu steak were lovely and flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Salt flakes on the side to season bringing out even more flavour.
Dessert: Small and dainty to complete the lunch, hojicha tiramisu and strawberry fruit mousse, super light as with most japanese desserts.
Would highly recommend this restaurant!

Despite showing up very late at night with the kitchen about to close for the day, they were so kind to let us go in and have dinner. The food really brings you to the Mediterranean flavors we have in mind and the quality of the service (the young waitress who assisted us was both nice and professional) was really top. Overall, a spot to keep in mind if you want to feel like in Tuscany with a classy touch in the middle of Kyoto. PS. I like always to write at least one “but” in my reviews to help both owners and customers but, in this case, there is not a “but” popping out (sorry for that).

Is this place Michelin-rated? Wow, what a surprise and treat. Thank you Supera Tours for including this restaurant as part of our “lunch stop.” Some tours take you to roadside ramen houses. Supera booked this fine Italian dining restaurant for our group of 26.
