Great experience! I got the teriyaki salmon bowl with rice, I passed on the warm veggies and just did scallions, ginger and cucumber, it was good. Would definitely try the sunshine here if I just needed a quick bite. The staff were really helpful and nice and it was near a large open area with plenty of seating. Felt like was in own sky lounge without the price

Worst service EVER. Bartender with blonde hair and black head band @ 11:50am on 11/06/25 was incredibly rude. I was asked to move out of the bar area because my daughter was with me. I did so, moved my bag yo table. I came back and she said I waz, “COPPING an attitude” and she didnt need to serve me. She said, “if you still want to order then HURRY UP!” I put in half an order then she asked, “is that all?” She then refused service and asked me to go to another associate. I was NOT unruly, just horribly suprised at the way I was treated as a CUSTOMER. The store was out another food dish, and 2 bar drinks, and gratefully a TIP. I only put an order in for one dish, for its what my daughter wanted. Horrible service never again.

Do not recommend. I ordered poke salmon, but they waited till I paid to tell me they only had poke tuna available. Kept the tuna sealed in a separate container when they handed me the bowl so that I had already walked off to my table before opening the fish solo cup and smelled how fishy and old it was. My brother had the sushi tray with no complaints. My veggies were fresh enough so 2 stars instead of 1.

Sometimes it is important to let the readers know not just what to try, rather what needs to be avoided. #Arami at Midway Airport Chicago, is one of those. I ordered Spicy Tuna Maki. The lady at the cash register asked me to find it (she couldn’t) and bring it to the cash register. That shows the training on courtesy. Coming to food itself, neither the rice and fish quality was good nor the shaved ginger was fresh; it was turned dark brown.

Arami was so wonderful at accommodating my partner’s gluten allergy! They knew what was gluten free and patiently answered all their questions. They even made a special roll off menu per my partner’s request and gave them a side of gf soy sauce! The sushi was a bit dry, but more than passable for airport food.

The food and service is excellent! I do not know what the previous person experienced. I, along with everyone else around me, paid after we finished eating. This Black-owned business is crushing it. They helped me make my poke diabetic-friendly with much flavour. I look forward to coming back again with my return flight. My favourite bartender is Lerin!

Ordered a build your own rice bowl with teriyaki salmon, kim chi, cucumbers, pickled radish.

Salmon was overcooked but edible. The teriyaki sauce on the salmon was on the heavy side for my personal taste. I would ask for it on the side next time.

$17 after tax is expected at an airport. And portion was perfect for me.

I’m glad there’s a restaurant with non deep fried, lactose free, vegetables (other than a salad) and probably gluten free food.

There’s also a separate bar area where you can sit and order sushi and drinks. Seating area has outlets and hooks to hang jackets.

I would come back if I’m in the terminal again. My cooked salmon in the poke bowl to-go was still moist and had decent flavor. Staff maybe not the friendliest but they were effective and served bowls fast when I came by at noon. $17 salmom poke bowl with white rice and 6 vegetables. I also like how Japanese food tends to be a healthy option.

Not bad for an airport rice bowl!

I dropped by during a layover at MDW for their Spicy Tofu Bowl (fully vegan friendly). It was a mix of white rice, red onions, bean sprouts, and tofu topped with green onions and a tangy vinaigrette.

I was impressed with how much tofu was given and that it was actually spicy. Definitely a good kick without it feeling completely burn-your-tongue.

I was a bit surprised the tofu was cold since I’m sure the meat options were likely heated, but a toss inside the bowl with the rice should heat it right up.

For $15 with tax, I’m satisfied with this airport lunch.
