Recently, my parents celebrated their wedding anniversary at Aargon Tavern, and they invited me to join — of course, I said yes! The ambience was warm and inviting, definitely a hidden gem here in Lincoln. For starters, my parents had oysters, which my mom said were delightful. My dad and I both tried different burgers, and wow — they were packed with flavor! To cap off the night, we enjoyed the pear dessert and a perfectly crafted cosmo. A wonderful evening all around!

This place is truly exceptional. Every dish showed a high level of care and creativity, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. The Reuben with truffle fries was phenomenal—definitely one of the best I’ve had in Lincoln. The deviled egg appetizer with steak was unexpectedly amazing, a must-try. We sampled several other dishes, and each one was just as impressive. We’ll absolutely be coming back!

My husband and I chose this spot for dinner since we happened to be spending the night down the street at the Kindler Hotel. My husband really enjoyed his Old Fashioned and the Tavern Dumplings but I didn’t really care for the dumplings as I thought they were very gummy. The deviled eggs were quite good but $20 for 5 egg halves is pretty ridiculous! I had the Pina colada and it was probably the worst I’ve ever had. My Reuben sandwich was just ok. The stars of the dinner were the fries with the bacon jam and the rum cherry sorbetto we had for dessert.

My dinner experience at Aragon Tavern went well. I was greeted at the door & asked where I would like to sit. The server met me promptly & gave me enough time to order. She told me they were out of the Ambrosia cocktail, so I went with the Thorn & Thistle, 10/10 drink–from the sage, bourbon & fruit garnish chefs kiss!! My entree was the sopressini, I added a medium cooked steak & it was SO good. Portion sizes are a lot as well, I took it to go. I got fries with some sauce, don’t know what it was, it so good but the ranch had too much dill in it. I would return here, nice ambiance!

The piedmontese (spelling?) beef is excellent. We had the sirloin and the hamburger. Bries & Berries appetizer was out of this world. And we even loved the brussel sprouts appetizer. Don’t expect a large beer selection but the wines/wine special are good. We had no wait as we reserved. Reservation was easy via Google or the Aragon website.

Imagine sitting in a cozy, classy (albeit a bit small) restaurant that has great gourmet burgers with some friends and enjoying a pint. This is just that type of place. A wide variety of burgers made with excellent beef, potato buns, and served with fries of varying flavor profiles, there’s something for everyone. The dinner menu has a few added extra surprises, namely high-end steaks that are on par with the best places in town.
The fries came come with a variety of sauces, including a bacon jam (which was a tad too greasy, but delicious nonetheless). There are several other sides to select from if you don’t want fries, including a side salad with butter lettuce and Green Goddess dressing.
The atmosphere is sophisticated without being overly fancy. There is a nice patio area to sit outside, weather permitting (although traffic can be kind of loud).
The service was excellent and timely, including pleasant smiles and thoughtful suggestions.
Overall, a great place to have a high quality burger and share one of the many local brews with some friends.

An opinion based on my own personal preferences: I wish the fries were a less seasoned. The sauce they gave with the fries was pretty good, but the strong flavor of the fries competed. I also don’t like brioche buns and do not understand why this has become such a fad with new burger places. Last thing- they seem to have really high quality meat. Don’t cover it up with so many toppings! Let the quality meat shine through!
Otherwise, I thought the atmosphere was relaxing considering they are just getting started! The service was great and quick. I ordered the dark manhattan and it was delicious.
