Warm and cozy interior. The service was extremely fast. I went solo but server was always attentive to me. Highly recommend lamb shank moguhli – it was fatty, the roasted egg gave it a nutty flavor. Try it with carrot and raisins rice, it gives it a spicy and sweet flavor profile.

Meat portions in the entrees are very generous. Vegetables are sparse so ordering a vegetable side dish would be a good idea. The food is very tasty and the prices reasonable. We’ve also eaten at their other location on MacArthur Blvd. which was also a great experience.

Excellent service. We did the complete taste of aracosia and it was sooo much food. Huge portion sizes. Everything was so delicious! Definitely get the dumplings. The pumpkin dumplings were amazing. We will definitely be back.

I had a wonderful dining experience at Aracosia McLean. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.

Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. The pumpkin dumplings were a standout—perfectly seasoned with just the right balance of sweetness and sour flavors. The beef and chicken kababs were incredibly flavorful, tender, and grilled to perfection. Each bite was packed with rich spices.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere felt great. Whether you’re looking for a cozy dinner spot or a place to celebrate with friends and family, this is a fantastic choice. I will definitely be returning to explore more of their menu especially the desserts! Highly recommend!

I had been missing our old Afghan spot in DC that didn’t survive COVID, so my first trip to Aracosia McLean with friends was something I was looking forward too- and did t disappoint .. The menu is generous without being overwhelming, the cocktails are mixed with skill, and the food is superb. The lamb is tender and richly spiced, the chicken with spinach and basmati rice is layered and memorable, and the vegetarian dishes are vibrant and full of flavor. Even the rice tastes like it’s had special training.

The dining room adds to the experience with Rumi’s words on the walls, Afghan art, and a thoughtful layout that makes the space feel warm and calm. It’s a place where you can relax into the meal, enjoy the details, and start planning your next visit before dessert arrives. Aracosia is a welcome addition my list of favorites.

First time here. Amazed by the portions of the $25 Sampler. Grilled Lamb chop and beef, very tender beef stew, 3 more dishes of chicken, lentils, Chicken peas and 2 types of basmati rice. Bread to start with 4 types of dips.. mild to spicey. Will definitely go back to try other dishes. Lamb shank for one, big portion.

I had the slow roasted spicy halal lamb with seasoned rice, it was super tender and very flavorful. Perfect balance with the rice. We also had the dumpling assortment which was good.

The items are on the pricier side but the portions were very generous. Service was excellent and the setting is very beautiful with tasteful art.

Highly recommend if you like Afghan cuisine or have never tried it before!

Such an amazing dining experience!

We tried the complete menu set, and the portion is so big that we couldn’t finish half of the food (2 people).

My fav are the lamp chop and chicken, interesting flavors

I will recommend everyone who never tried cuisine. This is the best place to visit.

I recently dined at Aracosia McLean and was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is warm and elegant, perfect for both special occasions and a refined night out. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with thoughtful recommendations. Every dish was beautifully presented and rich with flavor — the lamb shank and mantu were particular standouts. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines such high-quality cuisine with genuinely gracious hospitality. I’ll absolutely be returning.
