We stayed at The Royal Hotel and Bar where you can order pizza delivered to the bar from Aquila so of course being massive pizza addicts we did. As vegans we ordered the Marinara (nowhere to hide with this pizza it’s all about the base and tomato sauce) and a veggie with no cheese but extra chillies.
OMG these are one of the best pizzas we’ve eaten and that includes in Naples. The base is divine, it’s soft, pillowy and stretchy and you want more when you’ve finished. Perfect toppings too, I hate too much topping on a pizza, this was a perfect ratio.
The guys at Aquila nailed it, we don’t live in Lancaster but we’d come back just for their pizza and we will do definitely.

Aquila is literally the most awesome pizza place for Miles. The dough and the sauce are 2nd to none! We wouldn’t get pizza from anywhere else, it’s such friendly service and good value. The garlic bread with cheese is literally to die for.

Couldn’t recommend this place enough. My partner and I had an amazing pizza here! It’s great that Lancaster finally has a tasty pizza restaurant. We have subsequently been 5 times and it has never disappointed. Great for a takeaway or to sit in. Our new favourite dinner spot!

Some of the best Neapolitan pizza we’ve ever had. Garlic aoli tastes fresh and is super garlicky – just how I like it. Tiramisu is unreal. The lovely fella who served us was really friendly. Only criticism I would have is that the pizzas themselves are messy and not easy to eat with hands. We managed to get a seat in the pizzeria so we ate ours with a knife and fork! Overall, we wish we were closer to Lancaster because this would be a frequent spot for us if so!

It’s just the best pizza place in Lancaster. I refuse to order anywhere else now. Either delivering or eating in, it’s always delicious. If you do eat in, they have little tables outside which I love as it’s so cosy. The whole place just reminds me of being in Italy… couldn’t ask for better

Ordered Aquila for delivery on monday and it arrived super fast.
We had a Marinara, a Tuscan with extra pepperoni, one classic tiramisu and one pistachio tiramisu, two garlic dips and a chilli dip
The pizzas were so good — proper Neapolitan and full of flavour. Easily the best pizza in Lancaster. And the dips… the garlic dip is honestly unreal (and such a generous portion).
Made our date night feel extra special. Will 100% be ordering again.

We dine in and take out, probably at least once a week. Can’t go much longer than a week until the craving kicks in!! Some of the best pizza I’ve eaten. (The garlic bread with mozzarella is a must try) along with; amazing service, great vibe and great music. Could not recommend enough.

Absolutely incredible pizza! The crust is perfectly light with that authentic wood-fired smokiness, and the toppings are fresh and generous without ever feeling heavy. Service was quick and friendly, and everything arrived hot and full of flavor. Easily one of the best Neapolitan pizzas I’ve had in the UK. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Lovely Italian style pizzas, the ingredients taste fresh and the quality is always good. Food arrives quickly too. The waiters are young hip and friendly 🙂

What a great find! How have I not been here before? Great, authentic, very tasty, Italian wood fired pizzas! Just perfect! W had th anchovy pizza and mozzarella garlic bread. Delicious! First time here and we’ll definitely be back x I need to try the rest of the menu! Salads,deserts and drinks too! Staff are great, friendly and food was served quickly and hot. You can sit in or takeaway or have it delivered. Definitely the best pizzas in town
