I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant than I did at Applebee’s and that is entirely because of the manager, Sherry.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt tense and unwelcoming. When issues came up with our order (which took forever, by the way), instead of handling it professionally, Sherry responded with an attitude that was dismissive, defensive, and borderline rude. A manager’s job is to de-escalate situations and make guests feel heard she did the exact opposite.
Rather than apologizing or trying to fix the problem in a calm, respectful way, she acted like we were inconveniencing her just by speaking up. There was zero accountability, zero customer service skills, and absolutely no effort to make things right. It honestly felt like we were bothering her by expecting basic hospitality.
The food was mediocre at best, but bad food can sometimes be overlooked with good service. Unfortunately, terrible management makes everything worse. The lack of professionalism and courtesy completely ruined what should have been a simple night out.
If this is the standard of leadership at this location, I won’t be returning and I certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone else. A restaurant is only as good as its management, and this experience proved that.

Atmosphere was great! You could tell our server was new and messed up but Cherie made it all right and the food was worth the wait. Thank you Applebee’s!

Cherry the manager does a super duper bad service to Applebee’s this is not your generation x Applebee’s what made Applebee’s good..Employees that were ready to serve you and smile and share a story. unlike my server which I forget her name was totally un cool. Ccccherry totally discriminated against my looks but not my money. First time in 10 years walking into Applebee’s this place has no flavor has no Aura whatsoever tasting your food you will see its bland .. America Alamogordo and our visitors please visit your mom and pops shops down White sands boulevard. well worth it compared to the unsocial corporate Applebee’s I used to love never again food has no love.. and Sherry with A.. Cherreeee you never asked me what was wrong with my food why I disliked it.. for one small portion compared to the amount of tortilla chips you gave me for 2 maybe teaspoons of my dip. And no smile.. Alamogordo I just received a message from the owner asking for information on the ordeal.. owner please do your job all you got to do look at your surveillance footage if it’s even working. Video say 1000 words per frame. Just look at the expressions on my server and your manager. And it all started just for asking for olive being served three at a time. When I said I wanted a little bowl of them and I would pay gladly whatever they will cost.. sadly I guess there’s a shortage on olives. My grievances is better in a public forum.

Terrible service. First, I arrived and no one even bothered to give me a table. The manager had to come and get me one, but that’s not even the problem. The restaurant was empty the moment I arrived. I waited 10 minutes and no one came to my table. All the waitresses were chatting and none of them were working. The service was awful. I got up and left.

Ordered a steak from Applebee’s tonight and I think it came straight from the Sahara. I’ve had houseplants with more moisture. The fries were so dry they could’ve doubled as packing material. Chewing the steak felt like a full workout—Applebee’s accidentally gave me dinner and cardio.

I had an absolutely amazing time for lunch with my grandpa. The place was clean and tidy, service was amazing as always. Katie was such a pleasure to have as our server and bartender. She’s such an amazing worker and knows her job very well.

We had quite the mix of experiences here. We were greeted and seated quickly. However, we were then forgotten. The bartender who was helping customers next to us just kept looking at us but never asked if we had been helped. Finally a really nice server came over and apologized stating they kept changing the areas they were responsible for. Anyhow she was great.
But then another server must have been helping her out. She came over to our table and asked if we ordered two salads and we politely said yes. She then just literally threw them on the table. Even the people on the table next to us asked what was wrong. We had no idea.
The rest of the time went fine after our regular server came back. It was just a strange visit overall.

Hailey was our server, she did an amazing job! She was very informational with the menu! We ordered the 2/25 Got 2 house salads with ranch, for the entree we got the wait bacon burger cooked to perfection! Along with that we got the O M Cheese burger, i’ve never had anything like it! It was amazing, we will definitely be going back and requesting to sit with Hailey once again!
