While waiting on a family member’s surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mrs. HB and I grabbed a quick lunch at Applebee’s on the Parkway.
Mrs. HB’s quesadilla burger was perfect, but I got a breaded chicken sandwich instead of grilled. And our server forgot to tell the kitchen our “to go” order was to go. But otherwise, the service was pretty good.
All in all, a good lunch.

How do you not have lettuce for salads? The managers just ignored my inquiry. I came here to enjoy a salad for lunch. I cringe everything I have to eat here. Service is generally horrible but is anyone surprised with it being inside the city, of course not.

We’re from out of town. We ordered through GrubHub to have delivered to our hotel. We didn’t receive our entire order. I called and the lady on the phone new right away what we were missing. Our option was to have a giftcard mailed to my home (we don’t have an Applebee’s near us) or pay to have have it delivered on top of a tip all over again. No thanks. The food that we got was great. I just wish we all would have received a meal.

It took an hour and 20 minutes to get a cheeseburger and a chicken strip basket with fries. The food was soggy The fries we’re unedible and the hamburger wasn’t even done it was red bloody on the inside and I asked for it to be well done and the chicken strips I think they were old they were like leather eating them. They do not care about the service they don’t care how long it takes they absolutely just don’t care. I have since went back and I got the three cheese chicken which was fabulous and a salad which was great it still was not extremely quick so you’re just going to have to get used to that they’re not fast but it was good maybe a little overpriced but in this part of town it’s worth it there’s not a whole lot of other places unless you want fast food that you can go for decent food that is this quick The hill yes but it’s going to take a lot longer so I’m going to ease up on them a little bit chill out a little bit because this time the food was great.

Waited about 15-20 minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there. Once seated we were treated poorly by the waitress. She was busy visiting with “regular” customers. We were staying at the connected hotel, Double Tree, so our friend could have major surgery at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Our food was not hot, had no flavor. We would have sent it back but we couldn’t find our waitress. She never came back for more drinks until we were finished and she showed up with the bill. Will not go back there. Would rather eat at the hospital cafeteria.

We arrived there around 10:25 PM, fully aware they closed at 11PM and expecting a quick, efficient experience like usual. Instead, we stood at the host stand for about five minutes without even being acknowledged. When someone finally came over, we were told “someone will be with you.”
A few minutes later, another employee walked up and literally said, “I hate my job.” That alone should tell you everything.
Yet another server said she’d be right with us, then proceeded to stand there getting a drink while we continued waiting. Meanwhile, the hostess appeared more interested in hanging out in the back than seating guests. Many tables were still dirty and covered in plates. After standing around for 10–15 minutes total and never even being seated, we left. Completely ridiculous experience.

When we arrived at the front desk were someone was supposed to take names for seating there was no receptionist. When she did show up she did not take our name just said a table would be ready in about 20 minutes. I looked around the the seating there were over 10 tables available. It seemed the staff was more interested in standing around talking to each other than helping customers. When finally another receptionist showed up at the desk she did take our name and were seated a short time later. We use this restaurant because it’s attacked to a hotel and it’s covenant for are visit to Barnes Jewish Hospital.

I came here 2 weeks ago with a friend and ordered the pasta. It was just noodles with a touch of sauce after waiting 20 mins to talk to the server and not eating we left and explained to the manager the food wasn’t right. Came back last night hoping for better. Was sat immediately and then didn’t see a server for 30/35 minutes. When she did come she got the drink order and we didn’t see her again. After waiting another 30 mins for water we decided to just leave.
Went to the Applebees on new halls ferry and had a great experience there
Won’t be returning

Been to this restaurant location many times. With being at hospital quite a bit in last 4 years it’s great location very convenient. Up until this visit and 2 weeks prior it was great and I raved how great food and service was. I had the same waitress these past 2 times. Let me tell you horrible. She was nice but nice don’t cut it when you never get drinks, food sits till it’s cold before delivery, takes forever to receive anything and acts like everything is fine. Now for the food. It’s always nasty to be chowing down only to find a hair down inside your food. Then you’re attempting to take home your toddlers food since they didn’t eat and you find some foreign black crap inside what was supposed to be mac-n-cheese. Definitely will be thinking twice before having this place again.

Stickiest floors ever. One worker in pick up area doing silverware. Another in a booth with a customer taking with her arm around her. Other customers wanting to order had to go get this girl out of the booth to order. My app said my food was still being prepared but after 5 min waiting past the due time I had to go to the bar to find someone to let them know I’m ready. Then someone finally comes over but I lost my place in line having to go find the girl for my order. Then I had to wait for 2 other people to order their food. My food had been sitting there ready since before I even walked in the door!!! If orders are ready and you have people waiting you would think they would ask your name or if they could help you or something instead of sitting in a booth. Then i was told she just needed to make my sodas as she continued to stand there doing other things. I went to the bar to get my sodas. You’re right by a cancer hospital. I’m sure many people come here from there for convenience. Coming here will not make your day any better. Just pick up an imos pizza or something across the street for real. Zombie employees. The only awards they display are for money. Not service or food. That should tell you something right there.
