Passing through town for work, I stayed the night nearby and decided to have Applebee’s since we don’t have many/any back home in Alberta. Been seeing the commercials for the new cheeseburger and figured I’d give it a shot. Huge disappointment. I got a sprinkle of shredded cheese that I had to peel my burger out of. 2/10.
The waffle fry appetizer was spot on and the cold beer to wash it down was also grand. 10/10 on that.

NORCAL GIRL
Put our dinner order in for takeout last night. For 2 people we ordered 2 burgers, soup &salad, appetizers and when we go to pick it up the girl says it’s not ready and for us to wait outside and someone will bring it out to us as they’re understaffed. Mind you we even waited an extra 15 minutes to go pick up our dinner. So after waiting for a little bit I go check on my phone and see that our order says “completed” and the time completed was almost 25 minutes past – we go back and she said she would talk to the manager, and comes back after a couple more minutes and pulls our bag of dinner from a cubby in between the the door to go outside and inside ! So we got home to cold food. My order was supposed to be garlic mashed potatoes and instead I got cold fries. I understand if you’re busy, we don’t order takeout and not leave anything for a tip as well. I just wanted hot food for the $83 that we paid. And the order to be right. This is why I don’t like to pay until we get our food.

Overall the experience was good. The only thing is that I felt the portions were pretty small. The food did come out quickly and our server was very friendly!

One of the better experiences with Applebee’s. Food was flavorful and well seasoned, chicken was juicy and tender, shrimp were not overcooked or chewy. Our server Alicia was absolutely amazing! Kept us laughing the entire time we were there. Consistent check ups on how our meal was going and drink refills. Will definitely be visiting again

Let me tell you about our server. Name is Gabe. This man. Oh lord have mercy. This man Went above and beyond with his service. Such professionalism. I was in awe. Took care of me and my family like it was his own. I know this guy would have helped me with my car if I had a flat tire. Everyone needs to experience Gabe’s customer service!
Food was good. But that’s not what I’m coming back. I’m coming back to be taken care of by Gabe again.

Went in today to eat lunch wasn’t too busy got seated by host then waited 20 minutes and left since no one came to even take drink orders. Got walked by 4 different waitresses.

Was there for 10 minutes and not one person came and asked us for drinks. During this duration someone else left and said the same thing I just typed. Literally 12-15 costumers were in the whole place. Not busy at all.

It’s okay, nothing to brag about. Food is mid, customer service isn’t stellar, and sometimes is actually quite low. The fish and chips is my go to, when it’s actually available.

We had to wait 10 minutes for the waitress to come and get our drink orders, she was a little rude. We were also ready to order our food, and told her so, but she bluntly told us that she would need our drink order first. Ok, one in my party of for asked for a Dr pepper, and she growled “I don’t have Dr pepper. Ok fine a sprite would work. We had to wait several minutes for them. We finally got our food, chips were stale, enough to not being able to eat them. After a while, we caught her attention . The rest of us we already almost done eating and we told her the chips were bad, and we would like some to go boxes. Bad experience at Applebee’s today. Probably won’t be returning

Overall terrible experience and we love Applebees. We were in town visiting with family, so this particular one was new to us. And trust me when I say we will not be returning. Started with our waitress, she was very inattentive, spent time laughing with coworkers but not checking up on tables or back with us in a timely manner to see if we were ready to order. Did not know the menu well enough to answer specific questions we had about certain items. The food, was less than desirable. Steak was tough, had to “saw” through it with knife, salad was brown and slimy, bun on sandwich was very soggy, ribs overdone. Atmosphere, very very warm in there, yes it’s 95 degrees out, but we found out after we ate that the air conditioning was out of service. Maybe a sign on the door or mention to those coming in that this would be an issue during their experience. The manager was going from table to table asking people to leave reviews, mentioned the air being broken and asking patrons to specifically state on review they seen the manager on the floor. Even with all of this, we tried to make the most of it. Myself, I am a server and know what it’s like to have bad days and be understanding. We didn’t really complain, other than ask for a new salad and stressed that we know what it’s like and sorry to ask and we know this was not the waitresses fault.
Our real issue came when it was time to pay the bill. We were practically forced to use the table top machines if paying by card. 2/3 was paying by card, the other cash. Waitress took the cash right away, kept going back and forth to the till but still not bringing change back to us. We had issues with machine, waitress would try to help instead of just taking our cards and going to run on her end. We ended up figuring it out, paid what was due on our slips. Then the waitress comes back with the change from cash payment. Counted it and realized it was short about $15. Waitress claimed that one of the credit card payments didn’t pay their full amount. Why would we do choose to only pay a percentage of our bill? We asked for receipts to be printed. Asked for precious said manager, who came out after telling the server there was nothing she could do, which the server told us before manager got to us. Manager was LESS than helpful. Refused straight out to print us our receipts so we could see what the totals were to compare them to what we paid. Because the math was not adding up what so ever. The waitress literally held that cash ($100 bill) for a $36 order until the cards went through. Then took it upon herself to not give the entire change due for that specific ticket because there was an outstanding $15 left to be paid. I tried explaining to the manager that I understand but I just wanted to see the receipts and if that’s truly the case we will pay the extra that was supposedly shorted. No receipts of proof provided. I finally got pissed off and stormed out and will never return, nor would I encourage anyone else to.
I am a server myself, and a good one at that. I don’t return food or complain when i go out because I know what it’s like. But this encounter was absolutely awful.
