I honestly haven’t been to Applebee’s in years, but I recently stopped into the Applebee’s in Kokomo for lunch, and I was genuinely impressed. From the moment I walked in, the experience was far better than I expected, and it completely changed my perspective.
The food quality really stood out.
Everything came out fresh, hot, and well-prepared, with great flavor and generous portions. You can tell they’ve put real effort into improving their menu and execution. It wasn’t just “good for a chain restaurant” — it was legitimately good food that I truly enjoyed. For a quick lunch stop, it exceeded expectations in every way.
What impressed me just as much as the food was the pricing.
The lunch options were very affordable, especially considering the portion sizes and quality. In today’s economy, it’s refreshing to find a place where you can enjoy a satisfying meal without feeling like you overpaid. This was my first time stopping in to an Applebee’s!
I must admit I was pleasantly surprised.
Manager Ben welcomed us and mentioned some key menu items I should try.
Our bartender/waitress Marissa(I hope I spelled that correctly) provided us with great service. Which is impressive because she has plenty of tables and people sitting at the bar.
Food & Drink
We started our night with margaritas, they were spookily sweet and tart. Also ordered a couple shots.
We ordered boneless wings with the original hot.
Now I’m not big on ordering breast nuggets as wings but my lovely dinner date wanted them so that’s what we got. The “wings” were crunchy well sauced and served hot!
Now to our main course
I had the Strawberry Balsamic Chicken Salad and my beautiful date ordered the Classic Bacon Hamburger with fries.
The burger was perfectly cooked and well seasoned,
Fries were well cooked.
The salad was delicious fresh tomatoes, strawberry and lettuce. I would have preferred if there were more slivered almonds. The balsamic vinaigrette was a bit tart with the fresh lemon juice.
The restaurant atmosphere was nice.
We brought our mini Jenga to enjoy our spontaneous date night. We were able to play comfortably, laugh and be affectionate without feeling uncomfortable.
Will definitely be returning for a second visit.

The service was wonderful. Our waiter, Sharon, was delightful and always on top of making sure we had everything we needed. I will also say that the Manager, Bree was amazing as well. I witnessed an unhappy customer be handled with grace and professionalism. We had a bit of a delay on our meal and she even offered us a free desert as a way to make up for it. All in all, I was very impressed with my visit to Applebee’s. So much so that I took time out of my day to show some well earned recognition.

Went to dinner; my food was alright . The fiesta lime chicken just needed a lil more flavor I don’t think I’d order again though . My boyfriend got that chicken n shrimp skillet dinner & it was actually good ! & his mother got the southwest salad & she said it was good just needed a lil more toppings . Appetizers weren’t as hot. Server forgot a few requested items for our table. Overall it’s okay.

Went here for dinner with Gary, Jessica and Mickie. Drinks from the bar were tasty, we started with chicken quesadillas and cheese sticks. The quesadillas were the best we have had from anywhere! Gary had the chicken bowl, Jessica and I had the bourbon steak. All dishes were really good. The service was slow, but we realize on a Friday night around 10:30 most staff has had enough. Mickie enjoyed his frozen vegetables we brought in. Also enjoyed running into a few friends we hadn’t seen in a long time.

The service wasn’t great they were busy so maybe that played a part. When my drink arrived there was a bug in it and when my food finally came out (bourbon street steak new sizzle meal) wasn’t anything sizzle about it wasn’t hot at all and they forgot my garlic butter, mushrooms and onions. Waitress never apologized for the service or asked if I would like to speak with a manager or anything. Applebees will NOT be getting anymore of my money!
