Thank you Vince, the manager at Applebees for accommodating our non profit group with packing goodies for shelter residents during the holidays. We had amazing servers Isaiah and Adara. They were helpful and on top of our drinks and orders. Merry Christmas! From JADE 3:16

I haven’t been to an Applebee’s in years, but my coworker and I decided to stop by for drinks after a long week at work. We tried the Grateful Dead 2-for-1 drink special. It was good, but it definitely could’ve been stronger—especially for something with five types of alcohol in it!
The 2 for $25 deal is always a solid choice. We both ordered the cheeseburger meal. The fries were crisp and fresh, and our server was super friendly.

I don’t know how to describe my experience at this location, first and foremost unwelcoming is an understatement! No greeting. We want 2 coffee and 2 waters and sit outside. Shouldn’t be a problem because they have seats outside, wrong thinking. They wanted my . I suggested charge me first and than bring it, I don’t like to give my ID to strangers with all my personal information on it. So we went after our coffee back for dinner and here it goes again. Ordered a steak from the Mardi gras menu, medium rare. I got it well done and when I asked the server she said it cooked on the skillet. Maybe from medium rare to medium but not to well done! 2 mushrooms and a couple of onions and no Cajun sauce. When we were done I asked for a to go cup. 5 min later, nothing. Only one server was attentive it was the oldest. We was sitting at the window. The worst service I ever had.

Garlic Parmesan boneless wings. Dude. Thought I’d be done when you guys took away the fajitas but here I am ordering this slop. Good grief, get it together or you’ll be falling into Ruby Tuesday land.

The Applebees franchise keeps surviving around without much changes to buildings/inside/decor.
Food can be a hit or miss, depending upon location.

Friday night 5 PM should be your five star crew working. Not at this Applebee’s on Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa. Nobody wanted to be there, including the bartender. Everybody had a really bad vibe and seemed like they were doing the customers a favor. The food no surprise was a direct reflection of the servers and service. my dad‘s steak was cooked to charcoal, it was supposed to be medium. The atmosphere was dreary at best. Nobody wanted to be at work. I even peaked in the kitchen and the cook Staff was no better. May I add it took an hour and a half for just 2- 2 for 25, nothing ordered special. I have been to multiple Applebees in the Tampa area… Hey Applebee’s if you’re looking for a location to close, this would be it.

Doors were closed before 12am , I placed a to go order over the phone; I was told that the food was going to be ready by 11:50pm. I arrive at 11:45pm and doors were already closed. I had to drive all around the building and knock at every door in order to get someone to help me. The bartender was looking at me knocking at the doors from 11:45pm all the way to 11:55pm; when the manager finally came and opened the door . No apologies or nothing . They done ruined my appetite. Never will come to this location again.

I will preface this by saying i stopped coming to applebees yearssss ago because of horrible service and low quality food. today i decide to give them a redemption. We arrived at 10:23 pm. upon arrival there was no one at the front to greet and we didn’t get acknowledged for about 2 minutes (it’s a tuesday night and maybe 3 tables). when we finally got sat it was another 5 minutes before a server came. we ordered two waters, and the 2 for $25 combo. The food was actually decent and above my expectations for applebees. maybe 8-9 minutes later our appetizer comes out. we still don’t have our waters. maybe another 15-20 minutes and the food comes. we both got the chicken parmesan fettuccine pasta that is supposed to come with a piece of bread (surprise, it didn’t) the server said she would bring it out once it was ready. we finish eating and the bread is still not there and we have not had refills. these might sound like nit picky things but having an inattentive server really subtracts from the experience of dining in. The server seemed sweet but 0 sense of urgency or attention to detail. i’ll probably stick with chilis.

So I’ve been here a couple times, overall kind of reinvigorated my appreciation for Apple Bees. Also never really thought about it but what a weird name for a restaurant chain. I’ve had boneless wings, wonton chicken tacos, the fried chicken sandwich, fries, and spinach artichoke dip. Honestly everything is pretty solid ESPECIALLY if you happy hour it and get half off apps or deals on meals. The chicken sandwich though, damn, the thing is good and the thing is THICK. Bar is kinda sticky, atmosphere ain’t great, hostess attitude ain’t great, but to get 3 double vodkas, a big chicken sando and fries, for like $34 after tip is kind of a great deal in this day in age. Solid place to eat.
