I ordered boneless wings and fries. When the food first came out, both the wings and the fries were extremely cold, like they had been sitting for a long time. I sent them back, and while the wings came back somewhat warm, the fries were still cold and tasted old — like they had been sitting in the fry bin for a while. Overall the food quality tonight was very disappointing.
What made things worse is that there didn’t seem to be any real effort to resolve the issue.
I will say the bartender working tonight is clearly doing the best she can. She has been nonstop making drinks since we sat down and appears to be responsible for both the bar and drink service for tables. Because of that, several people sitting at the bar have not been serviced properly. She looks overwhelmed, which seems more like a staffing issue than a personal one.
I’ve had good experiences here before, so I hope tonight was just an off night, but cold food and lack of resolution made this visit disappointing.
Today me and my Family went to Applebee’s. Everything was great. The waitress was sweet and nice. Her name was Anesah she did pretty good. We had great chemistry up to the point where I did complain about the rotten tomato for my burger. I told her can I get this fixed. She mentioned oh no we would remake the whole thing. I also mentioned my fries with Cole she was prompting quick to Replace my fries with some fresh ones which is great. But I feel she was a little intimidated by the cook upon bringing my burger bag. I noticed they just placed a large tomato on it to replace the rotten one. If it was me, I would’ve replaced the entire burger. She also put it on the same plate well, I don’t think it was her, but I do think it was the cook all the same put a better taste in my mouth probably won’t be back
Service by Journey was the only reason I stayed. Very disappointed. I see why I don’t come to this location, would go across town before I come back. I ordered chicken salad and picked out every piece of chicken. Hard , cold
#1 Never try to past old food off as fresh. As you can see it was not appealing. My boneless chicken wings were old and the chicken on my salad was like chewing gum. Plus whoever got the temperature on ice ball’s, if it was hot out side Kool, like was cool outside yesterday but freezing as if eat and leave. I might have spent more than $30 dollars if I felt welcomed. It felt like hurry up and buy, eat leave.
I came in looking for a casual meal but unfortunately left before ordering due to a poor first impression and concerning atmosphere. This feedback is meant to be constructive, as improving the initial guest experience is key.
Areas for Improvement (Constructive Feedback):
The Host Station: The initial approach from the host was lackluster and lacked energy. A friendly, energetic greeting sets the tone for the entire visit, but here, the host seemed disengaged and in a slump. A simple smile and an inviting tone would make a world of difference.
Bar Cleanliness and Service: I sat at the bar and immediately noticed that the area felt dirty and smudged. When combined with the off-putting energy from the staff, the lack of cleanliness was enough to make me uncomfortable.
Bartender Engagement: The bartender who served the area was not pleasant or welcoming. The entire staff interaction felt dull and unwelcoming.
The Overall Vibe:
The overall atmosphere of the restaurant felt flat and dark. The energy of the staff directly impacts the guest’s experience, and the current mood is genuinely off-putting and doesn’t make you feel good about staying.
I highly recommend the management address the staff’s engagement and conduct a deep clean, especially in the bar area. I truly hope to see improvement and would be willing to try again once these foundational service issues are resolved.
