This Applebee’s was not on point. You would think food is pretty consistent between all of them, but this Applebee’s it was not. My green beans. Some of them were hot and some of them were cold and I don’t mean just chili. They were still cold the. The steak was overcooked but it took them so long to get me my food. I was afraid to send anything back. The wait staff was a little slow. We sat in the bar area. My guess is she had too many tables but I’m not sure.

Couldn’t figure out how to apply the 2 for $27 deal online so I just placed the order and I thought they can adjust it when I pick up. Well know the cashier there was like I don’t know how to fix it. Whatever $57 instead of $27. Moving on. I go home and the food is so bad I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. Straight in the trash.

I’m familiar with my local Applebee’s and we usually enjoy the food there, but the one we stopped at in Wytheville, Virginia was awful. I should have trusted my spidey-senses when we walked in and I could smell old fry oil. The place was almost empty at about 7:30pm and it still took some time to get our food. When received, one was the wrong order and had to be made again. One order was was correct, but the French fries were cold and cheese wasn’t melted on the burger. My order, a three appetizer plate with the wonton chicken tacos, double crispy shrimp and soft pretzels was disgusting. The wontons were over cooked to a muddy brown color and dripping in the old fry oil I smelled when we arrived. Cheap with the filling as well. I can’t even describe how bad the shrimp was. I literally spit it out into a napkin. The soft pretzels were okay, a little dark, but edible. The mustard beer dip was also no bueno. When the corrected order finally arrived the french fries were barely warm, but at least it was the correct order this time.
We were very nice to the waitress, it wasn’t her fault, but we did ask to see the manager. Another long wait, but when she did show up she was very apologetic and offered fresh orders and dessert. I did take some soft pretzels but we declined the dessert offer. I suggested she get the kitchen to up their game and she agreed. She ended up comping most of the bill, but I would have rather had the proper orders to begin with and food that was edible.
Very disappointing. Do better, Applebee’s.

Menus and standing table menus are oily and dirty, appearing rarely disinfected. Condiments are placed on top of food items in souffle cups, where employee hands contact cup surfaces, then food.
Waitresses observed with hair down, potentially contacting food and drinks, while others had hair appropriately back. Excellent server communication.

Picture this: you pull up to the applebees off I-81 after 7 hours in the car, exhausted but full of hope. A rainbow has formed over the Rural King and there are gorgeous mountains glowing in the background after a soft rain. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our server was magnificent, I think her name was Terri. Our family of four was sharing a single brain cell and Terri helped us all decide what to eat and brought us hot waters with lemon. Our mozzarella sticks came out a little late but she took them off the bill (queen!). We left with our bellies and hearts full. 3.5 stars.

Sat at the bar as is my custom. Bartender was Allison, she was so friendly and attentive. Had the appetizer combo and a few double Jack’s n diet. Highly recommend if you’re cruising I-81 in Southern Virginia. Not a dive bar, excellent experience.

Absolutely the worst food. A simple chicken sandwich. Completely not prepared correctly. Fries looked and tasted as if they were warmed up in microwave after sitting in a fridge for 9 years. After I barely ate anything bartender didn’t even ask if it was ok. She knew it terrible. If you can avoid this place I would.

Excellent experience with takeout! I am sceptical about takeout anymore. But Applebee’s hit a home run! The burgers were cooked perfectly and everything else was very delicious.
