I pretty much never write reviews, but this place, found so randomly, made my day on my way to Niagara Falls.
I ordered a beef steak, the most expensive one, which is actually really not expensive, maybe 24 dollars.
From the very first bite, this beef steak was pure perfection – tender, juicy, and bursting with rich, savory flavor. The sear on the outside was beautifully caramelized, creating that satisfying crust that locks in every drop of flavor. Inside, the meat was cooked exactly as I like – a little bit red in the middle as it is supposed to be for a medium rare steak.
The mashed potatoes on the side were smooth and creamy, whipped to a light, velvety texture with just the right amount of butter and seasoning. They balanced the richness of the steak perfectly, soaking up the juices like a dream.
Then came the roasted mushrooms and onions – just like at home, where I am coming from – Lithuania, slightly sweet, and caramelized to perfection. Their smoky aroma complemented the steak so well that each bite felt layered and complete. The combination of the tender beef, silky potatoes, and roasted onions with mushrooms created a symphony of comfort and home nostalgia.
In short, this meal wasn’t just delicious – it was restaurant-quality comfort food at its finest. And I can compare, as just a week ago I had a really mediocre beef steak in one of the best restaurants in Dublin. This is where they did not even made it as I asked it to be medium rare, instead they brought a well done failure which made that thing barely edible, compared to a joy I had in this road-side Grill bar. And here in Applebee’s every element worked together harmoniously, making it one of those dishes you can’t stop thinking about long after the plate is clean.

Sade was an absolutely amazing server and truly made our entire dining experience memorable from the moment we arrived. From the start, she greeted us with a warm and welcoming attitude that immediately set a positive tone for the meal. It is always refreshing to encounter someone who genuinely seems to enjoy their job, and Sade clearly takes pride in providing excellent service. Her friendly personality and professional demeanor stood out right away and made us feel comfortable and appreciated as guests.
Throughout the entire meal, Sade was incredibly attentive without ever being intrusive. She made sure that we had everything we needed, checking in at just the right moments to ensure that our food, drinks, and overall experience were going well. It is not always easy to find the perfect balance between being attentive and allowing guests to enjoy their time, but Sade handled it effortlessly. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made sure our table was always taken care of.
Another thing that really stood out about Sade was her kindness and patience. She treated everyone at the table with respect and genuine friendliness. Whether it was answering questions about the menu, making recommendations, or simply chatting with us for a moment, she always maintained a positive and welcoming attitude. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive, and she was able to give thoughtful suggestions that helped us decide what to order. It was clear that she was confident in the food and drinks the restaurant offers, which made the experience even better.

The food was decent overall. However, my friend found an eyelash in her appetizer, which was concerning. When we brought this to management’s attention, the response was disappointing. The manager, Freness Martinez, implied that the eyelash may have been intentionally placed there, which felt unprofessional and dismissive. While issues can happen, the way they are handled matters, and this experience fell short of expectations.

Never had a bad experience here until tonight 9pm. One beer keg out, other one was flat and warm. Food, waited at least 30 mins at the bar. Cadillac margarita, nope they didn’t know how to make it. Sxxxxx put in her two weeks and didn’t give a dam, just talking up her friends. Jaylen was attentive – busy cleaning and learning how to make drinks. Good luck to you mate. Absolutely insane experience for a simple bar meal.

Tonight, my table had Sade as our server and I have never had a better time at a restaurant. Automatically, she had a great mood when approaching our table and was able to joke around with us when talking so that her coming in to get our orders were more natural. You know that feeling when you’re in the midst of a conversation and the server comes to ask for your order at the worst time? This was the opposite of that feeling. Sade never felt like an interruption, but felt like a temporary new conversation and genuinely made everyone at our table smile. She also answered our questions with zero judgement and when she came to check on our table, it was always a temporary welcome because she would reference something from earlier when taking our order and everything flowed smoothly. My table is already talking about when we want to come back, and hopefully we get her as a server again.
An additional thank you to Sade for not judging our friend’s choice for getting three blue cheeses and instead supporting his dedication to the blue cheese craft.

Emery was such an amazing server. I saw him balance mountains of plates upon his arms and traverse the dangerous landscapes of customers to get us our food speedily and safely. He brought water upon water to our thirstiest person at the table with a smile on his face that was so bright it could rival the sun. His nonchalance was like no other, simply the coolest waiter in the entire establishment. I could wax endless poems about how cool he is, but I haven’t enough characters in this text box.

My husband and I went here yesterday!! Sarah was our waitress who was polite and friendly! She came over a few times to make sure our food was delicious enough which is was! The manager was out in the dining area making sure everyone is satisfied and happy. I always love going to the totowa restaurant compared to the others. Thank you for everything! Jeremy was an outstanding waiter at Applebee’s! From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect without ever being overbearing. We sometimes feel happy and sometimes frustrated with the service; not only here but in other places too. However, in Totowa, Richard always takes great care of us. He prepares our to-go juice bottles in special ones and makes our lunchtime at school so cool. Many thanks Richard!
