Apple Valley Family Restaurant has a charming and family-friendly atmosphere, with a menu full of cozy, yummy options. Being there during a little snowstorm made it feel extra cozy. Their signature crabcake sandwich was delicious, and the fries were fresh with a fun shape and texture. Staff was so sweet and friendly. The whole spot is a sweet getaway to nearby ski slopes! Milford adds charm with its historic explore me vibes. So Americana – this restaurant feels like a very important part of that history. Thank you!

We stopped in after skiing on a Friday night and it was sooooo quiet there was only one other party eating when we left. My husband got the smokey mountain brisket for $17.95 and I got the pulled pork sandwich for $15.75, both were hot and yummy after a cold day on the slopes. Billy was our server and he was great, the manager (I think) also came by to say hi and fill out waters.

I’ve tried this restaurant 3 times and was disappointed every time. I brought my daughter with me this last time and people were talking inappropriately at the bar. I’m not sure if that’s the norm but it was the last straw for me. The mashed potatoes had the consistency of soup and they were extremely salty. The vegetables were terrible. The soup was good and the mozzarella appetizer was good as well. The meals are expensive. I just expected more.

Our server Sarah was nice, polite, and accommodating. She made arrangements for my grilled cheese sandwich to have lettuce, tomatoes, and onion added. This is known to me as dragging it through the garden. It was delicious.
The fagioli soup of the day was a winner as well. I will consider stopping here again when in the area.

Went for my birthday dinner and was not disappointed. Their brisket and pull pork are our favorites! Thank you to the Manager who came out personally to make sure our table of 7 was accomodated, even though they were renovating. Very hospitable and we will definately be back for our 4th time soon!

I don’t know if Google will allow me the space to say all the nice things I have to say about this restaurant.
We saw a sign on 84 heading West. 2 miles off the exit we were greeted by a hostess wearing black slacks and a bright pink sweater and a smile on her face. Great start.
After being seated we looked at their menu. Not at all was I was expecting. A beautiful array of choices. We just weren’t hungry enough to try all the items we wanted. I had a Cobb salad. Home made Blue cheese dressing, plant of freshly grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, blue cheese and tomato on a spring mix and iceberg lettuce and served in a chilled bowl!! My husband had the Apple Valley Chicken sandwich whatcha had grilled mushroom and onions with Havarti cheese on a toasted and buttered Brioche bun with fries! The sever was kind, courteous and was well informed of the menu.
The hostess, server and manager all took a moment to share a little kindness with us while we ate.
The food was delicious
The staff was incredible.
The bathrooms and the restaurant were all immaculate
If I ever find my way back to this part on the country, I will happily go back

Stopped in here for the first time after years of driving by. I was greeted in a polite and friendly manner and taken to my table quickly. It was in between lunch and dinner and so there wasn’t a big crowd, which was kind of nice for once. Sarah came quickly to my table to take my order, smiling pleasantly all the time. I ordered the Cobb salad. Boy, there sure was a lot of food. The blue cheese dressing was chunky and the chicken was tender. The greens were fresh but the tomatoes were just a little mealy.
All in all, a great meal at a good value. I’m finally escaping New York and heading into Milford to live and so will be back regularly.

Stopped in today and am dropping my rating slightly.
I ordered the fish and chips. Still same great service but the meal was lacking. One piece of fish and a handful of lukewarm fries. The problem with serving food in a metal bucket (the fries) is that the container acts as a heat sink and pulls it from whatever is stored in it. $20 was too much.

I dined at Apple Valley for many years since moving to the area in the late 1980s and, under it’s long-standing family ownership, always enjoyed the fare it provided, the friendly well-trained staff, the extensive menu (including an array of dinner entrees), and the affordable prices. Sadly, none of that was to be found tonight, my first time back since it became another outlet owned and operated by Milford Hospitality/ Rosado group.

I ordered the brisket dinner, which came with salad, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw (add a soda and it came to just under $30). I should have known it would be mediocre when the menu featured a reminder that brisket is fatty.

The meal came out in less than 10 minutes, at which time the waitperson said she could bring my salad out when I finished the meal or make it to go… when I declined, a better place would have offered dessert instead since they missed delivering my salad. Nope. Then I realized I had no silverware except the unnecessary steak knife that came with the plate. Staff told me just to grab something from another table. Great service, huh!

The meal was less than mediocre… think Denny’s on an off night. Blah!

What a shame that this once beloved, formerly locally owned, Milford institution has fallen. There are better options to be found. I won’t be back.

I’ve spotted this restaurant and have meant to visit for several years. I’m so glad I did! Sarah was a lovely waitress, our meals were delicious and the portions generous, the decor was lovely! It’s also located in a little shopping village with a garden and pond. I’ll be back!
