Great little bar and wonderful restaurant! Rico, the owner stopped by and chatted with us to make sure everything was ok. The bartender was very attentive and had some great recommendations! Great food in a small town!

I have only given this restaurant 2 star instead of a 1 star because I was given the option of ordering something else because when our waitress asked how our food was, I told the truth. I ordered the 6oz filet mignon, done medium. Salad was average and the baked potato was also but the steak, wow, I have never eaten a worse cut of meat. It was more of a 3 oz sirloin, well done. I have never seen a 1/2 inch filet mignon before. It was horrible. she did ask if I wanted something else but I had already eaten most of it because I was hungry. I won’t go back and I suggest you don’t either. $29.95 for a 3 oz piece of nasty steak was not worth it. She also offered to give me free dessert but I had had enough. Nothing could please me at this point and nothing was taken off the bill either. Sorry, but it was definitely not up to any standard. I warned you.

This place is overrated! I should know by now if a restaurant advertises itself as “iconic”, and “gimmicky” it’s best avoided. I did want to avoid it, and only came here as every other restaurant in this town seemed even worse!

My steak was dry and had absolutely no flavor. Zero seasoning, and the A1 sauce they provided was too acidic, but it was better then eating it plain.
The French Onion soup seemed fine at first, but by the third bite, it too also became too strong. And they put WAY too much cheese on it. We ended up scraping it off, because it was like eating rubber.
Fries had zero seasoning on them. Not even salt.
The bread had a very strange texture, and felt undercooked.
The only somewhat decent thing were the ribs.

But my biggest complaint is the obligatory side dishes. You want ONE thing, they force you to order 10 others!
I only wanted fries as my side dish, but was forced to order a salad I did not want. The other person in my party wanted a the French Onion Soup for the side dish, as the menu said soup is a choice, but was forced to pay extra, as well as get a side dish of French fries she did not want. As someone who hates wasting food, this put me in a really bad mood, that they force their customers to order things they know they aren’t gonna eat!

The ambiance is cool, but that’s really thing it has going for it. And I guess the price was also decent for the amount of food.

Everything was excellent, as usual. Service was friendly and attentive, food came out quickly and was lovely.
We didn’t know that traditional style battered fish and chips are only available on fridays. We were able to order fish and chips, but it was prepared a different way…with a bread crumb topping. Had an amazing beer on tap, a seasonal one called Southern tier pumpkin king. It was pricey at $9.50 a glass (didn’t know, price wasn’t written on the chalkboard or on the menu) but was excellent.

This is an historic place that’s been around for a long time and is a local favorite. The only reason I did four stars instead of five is because the dining area is small and I am a bit claustrophobic. That is a personal thing and does not really reflect on the establishment.

IF YOU ARE NOT WHITE THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU ! That’s how our server Loren made us feel when we went for dine in !
1)Loren took or drink orders and but wasn’t very happy to take our order .she took my wife’s order and tried to leave without taking mine .
2)when we placed order for an appetizers !
3) after we had our appetizers we were still sitting there almost 20 min and our order for main course was not taken !
4) mean while we see our server going to other tables 3-4 times and looks like she wanted to ignore us!
5) when finally she came to ask if we want to order anything else my wife told her we changed our mind and don’t want to order anything and asked for check
6) Loren said okay! Without any care but she knew what she was doing !
7) she didn’t start showing that she is sorry until i asked her name so i can mention in review to warn other non white people!
We were exited to try their food but couldn’t try because of this experience! I am sure the food is great!

Stopped for a quick early dinner and grabbed a seat at the bar. The crock of French Onion Soup was fantastic. One of the few places that I’ve found that makes it properly. The broth is very flavorful and the cheese baked on just right.
Ordered the Lobster Stuffed Baked Haddock which was very good. Had chunks of lobster and the haddock was light and flaky. The side of mashed potatoes was just alright. Highly recommend this place.

The fries were good. The waitress was nice.
Everything else was horrible, stale, tasteless, and just gross.
The tables were sticky (washed with the same cloth that has never been rinsed).
The food was nasty. I’ve had better at a student cafeteria.
