Chicken fried steak tasted like was so bland had no flavor and the mash potatos had a crunch to them. Were not fresh. My bulldog was very happy. Fries was the best part of the meal. Service was fine. Surprised they were so busy for that kind of food.

This Apple Barrel is the one consistent location out of all I have been to. Stopped for breakfast and ham was great, eggs cooked perfect, biscuits were flaky and fresh, and server was friendly and efficient. Stop here and quit guessing where else to find breakfast.

The restaurant was clean and the staff were friendly, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food was hit or miss. My burger was disappointing—the patty was thin, frozen-style, and only about a third the size of the bun. The onion rings had nice flavor but were so hard they scraped the roof of my mouth. The pork tenderloin also had good seasoning, but the breading was undercooked and the center was still cold. On a positive note, the tea was excellent, and while our server was kind, she seemed a bit overwhelmed even with just a few tables.

This is one of our favorite pit stops on the way to Omaha! The Apple Barrel Restaurant at the Sapp Bros. Travel Center is big, clean, and always reliable. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, and the food hits the spot — perfect for a road trip break whether you’re grabbing breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
What really makes it stand out is the fun general store feel — there are always unique items to browse, which makes the stop more than just a meal. The staff is friendly, and the entire space is well-kept. A solid, family-friendly option we look forward to every time!

My server was very present and respectful. Food came out quick. I got the Steak and Egg Special with plain pancakes – $14. With coffee and orange juice total bill was $21. The plates of food are not small so you should get your money’s worth.

Cool place, great deals and bathrooms trying to upstate Buc-ee’s. Each one has private bathrooms with bidet! Not to mention, they have the cutest kids toilet ♡

A terrific spot to stop on a road trip to have a meal, gift or souvenir shop, and use the restroom. There are plenty of fuel pumps and parking. The staff are friendly and quick service oriented. There are lots of on the road snacks, kids toys, blankets, trinkets for the car or truck, and a good selection of drinks, and coffee. The salad bar is fresh and there is a nice counter style eating area, or tables in a dining room. Hot and fresh food orders to eat in or to go. We always enjoy taking a rest break here, and fueling up.

Very friendly and talkative staff. Plenty of parking. Very clean restaurant. Burger and fries were hot and delicious. They didn’t have my mozzarella sticks, but that’s ok. I’m so glad that they were able to get back up and running after both those flooding that happened. She told me about it. May your restaurant and store be back and recovering and prosperous. Come stop in and you will be greeted by kind and friendly staff. Bring the family! On the wall is the unbelievable pictures of when both floods happened.
