So glad I came across these folks. I’m telling everyone I can that their breakfast is phenomenal. I can’t stop getting the eggs benny. I mean, c’mon… a THREE EGG BENNY with homemade hollandaise made to order?? Unreal. The crew running this place feel like family, but in a good way

Cute little ‘pop’ shop. Felt very welcoming when we walked in. The server was very friendly and attentive. I got the peanut butter French toast for 13.99. Great quality for the price. Seating was comfortable.
The owner nailed how I like my eggs cooked. He asked us after our meal how we liked it. Felt like a nice home cooked meal.
Will definitely be returning to try the potato pancakes!

Holy cow! What huge portions of great good! Had the salmon Benny and it is amazing. The people in here are obviously regulars. Has a very small town cafe vibe with metropolitan food. Loved it!

The West Coast Benny came with a warning: it takes a little longer to prepare because the hollandaise is made to order. That’s when I knew I was in good hands 🙂
Really, it should have come with a second warning: that you’d better be hungry! From the generous portion of salmon to the THREE poached eggs under the velvety hollandaise, to the perfectly seasoned potatoes it was by far the best eggs benny I have ever had. Thank you chef!

It’s a little hot today in the dining room, but wonderful food made me forgot the heat.

We live in Ladysmith but had never eaten at this local eatery. The food, portion size, & service were all very good, but I would appreciate a proper bill with all details. The 3 ordered items were listed (e.g. $13.99), but then just a totally rounded figure at the bottom ($ & zero cents which is not usual); no tax or “other” shown, and I say “other” because when I checked the calculation later (had decided at the time it was probably roughly correct & had tipped well on that total), the addition did not add up; it was 75 cents over, so not sure if there was an extra charge for a plastic take-away container?, or credit card charge?, or anything else? Nothing was communicated for us to know in advance. I did see a few followup comments from the owner on older reviews, but I mention this mainly for other diners to know. Would have given 4 stars but minus 1 for this issue!
Update re Martin’s response–thank you for your prompt, kind, & overly generous offer! We don’t expect a free meal & will consider the extra bit a further boost to the local economy!

We were recommended to come here for breakfast/ brunch. Absolutely worth the recommendation. If you find yourself passing through Ladysmith before 2:30, you must stop here. Martin makes an amazing meal. I had the Monte Crisco Sandwich, and My wife had the perogies.

There is a reason that when you look this place up you find that it has mostly 5 star reviews…. The service is excellent – meaning kind AND efficient. They changed/adjusted the meals to fit the tastes of my two picky three year olds. The food was excellent. I had to stop myself from licking out the bowl. I had the Thai peanut red curry chicken and my husband had the seafood chowder and we give both meals 10/10. The place is small – so not fit for a large group… But if you can get in and support an excellent local business, do it!
