Was very impressed, especially after reading some of the negative reviews!! I don’t think I’d ever order seafood in the mountains as mentioned in other reviews, but the trout pate (locally sourced) tasted incredibly fresh. We also got the Caesar salad which was a REAL Caesar!! It came topped with anchovies and you could taste it in the dressing – it was perfect. We got the sausage special which had really well balanced flavors as well as the venison meatloaf. The meatloaf had a huge portion, a little bland, but still very good. The Creme Brulee was FANTASTIC – the sugar was perfectly torched, not overly burnt like you usually run into. Our server, Daniel was super friendly and personable – we had an amazing time here!

Eh. This place was alright. We were not very impressed. Seating is very close together on bottom area. Waiter seemed a bit irritated with us and overworked (granted it was last day open)… still not very professional. Ordered the charcuterie board and the bread was very stale and board was sparse. Definitely not worth $27.00! This place has lots of potential, but this place was nothing special.. probably wont return.

Absolutely delicious food, everything was perfectly prepared. We had beat salad, beef carpaccio, the trout, and venison meatloaf. It was as good a meal as I have had anywhere. The service was very slow, a good 15 minutes to be greated and given water (parched after a day on the mountain) and then drink orders, checkout, and being checked on was slow. Could almost take away a star, but the food was so good. And one should have a liitle more patience on vacation, right?

Scrumptious meal! Worth every penny we spent. Great ambiance with warm coziness. Farm to table. Chef Ed knows what he is doing in the kitchen. A must if you are staying in Snowshoe. Our waitress was on point and allowed us to enjoy the meal.

Service started out great but the server wasn’t very knowledgeable on the menu. We ordered the $110 tomahawk ribeye (medium) for two and it came out unseared which wasn’t the issue. The cut was full of Grissel and The manager offered to replace it with filets as that was the quickest option. We waited another 45 minutes while they offered the rest of the table dessert and still nothing. Then we asked to speak to Chef Scott but he was too “busy” to address the problem. They proceeded to bring us the full bill that wouldn’t have had any apologies if we wouldn’t have addressed it. We walked away with $130 bill for drinks and an appetizer and no show from the so called Chef Scott. It was our group’s birthday dinner and totally disappointed everyone. Lack of staff education from Management and Executive Chef Scott. Hope they get it together

The food was good but I am giving this restaurant a low review because of the atmosphere. If you are a table for 2 beware! The room for the tables are on a split floor. You step down two steps to another floor were they have all the 2 top tables set up. These tables are set up against the railing for the upper floor were those table come all the way to the railing. You literally feel you should introduce yourself to the people sitting at those tables when sitting at a 2 top table. I know the guys entire life story that was seated at the upper table. He happened to talk nonstop and very loudly. It was really uncomfortable. We spent $200 on dinner for 2 and this should not be the atmosphere for this pricey of a restaurant. If your a table for 2 demand to sit at a four top table so that this does not happen to you. ***To the owner: We did ask to move prior to ordering. We were moved to another 2 top table. People came shortly after to the upper table. They never offered the 4 top tables. Those 2 top tables should be removed in my opinion. This restaurant is too pricey to sardine customers against each other.

Easily the best restaurant at Snowshoe. Opened in 2017, a little walk outside of the village, but worth the effort to get there. All natural foods that are locally sourced. They are one of the few restaurants that takes reservations which was a plus.

Was impressed with Appalachia Kitchen! It was a little more on the pricey side but the atmosphere and food supports it. We had the tomahawk steak everyone likes on here – it was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. But the corn that came with it??? THAT is the star of the show. It was brûlée on the top and the flavor was so buttery and delicious. My kids shared the kids menu filet and the steak was perfectly medium and the fries were good. Also the chef’s flavor of the day for crème brûlée was pumpkin…also delicious. Well done, Chef.

Conceptually the food is amazing… execution leaves something to be desired. Rubbery “48 hour” short rib (really there is no excuse for that) and dry chicken. But the osso bucco and steak were phenomenal! Even with the execution issues, they are still mikes better than anything in the village.
