The country fried steak at Apollo Beach Diner is outstanding. We tried it both ways—regular and the skillet—and both versions were exactly what you want from a classic diner meal. The hash browns were seasoned well, crispy without being greasy, and the over-easy eggs were cooked perfectly. The sausage gravy was smooth, creamy, and had plenty of sausage. The steak itself is pre-made, but in a comforting, nostalgic way that absolutely hits the spot.

Portions were fair for the price, though I wouldn’t have minded a little more hash browns. Service was friendly and efficient, and the whole experience felt warm and familiar. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good, reasonably priced diner meal with great service.

Apollo Beach Diner ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the kind of breakfast spot you hope to find but rarely do anymore.
We ordered the country fried steak and eggs—and wow. A golden, crispy cutlet smothered in rich, peppery sausage gravy, with two perfectly fried eggs and hash browns that were actually crispy (not the sad, soggy kind). My wife had their breakfast special plate which was just as solid: fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, a warm buttermilk biscuit, and a generous bowl of cheese grits that were creamy and comforting.
This is real, no-frills diner food done right. Nothing fancy, just honest cooking and portions that’ll keep you full until dinner. Pair it with a cup of hot coffee and you’ve got yourself a proper Southern breakfast.
If you’re in the Apollo Beach area and craving classic American comfort food, don’t overthink it—just go.
The kind of place where regulars know the staff by name.

I love this place. Small, friendly and the food is amazing. Not a lot of places can do a perfect over medium egg. Over easy and over hard are pretty easy. Over medium is tricky. My second time there and the second time they came out perfect. Waitstaff is THE BEST! They treat you like family here. Highly recommend. Prices are fabulous. Atmosphere was like being at grandma’s. Comfy.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Classic Diner Experience!

If you’re looking for a true mom-and-pop gem, Apollo Beach Diner is a must-visit. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming — just the kind of place that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. The food was great across the board: hearty portions, flavorful comfort classics, and everything cooked with care.

The staff was friendly and attentive, and you can tell this place has real pride in what they do. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this diner delivers. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area!

Wonderful old school diner. They do a great chicken fried steak breakfast skillet. We had a bit of a wait – Saturdays are very busy.

Great breakfast and lunch spot. We finally tried on a weekday day off. Ordered the breakfast burrito and my wife had the country fried steak skillet. AMAZING! So much food. Also got a half order of the biscuits and gravy(half order ). So good. Want to try the Reuben or patty melt next time with the homemade chips. Mmmm.

We love Apollo Beach Diner. We go almost every Sunday after church. The service is great and the food is delicious. They’ve become very accommodating of my request for a Buffalo chicken tender in place of traditional breakfast meat (most of the girls seem to expect me to order it now ☺️). Their chicken tenders are amazing, as are the home fries. Clearly not frozen like you get from some restaurants. The pic with this review is a spin on a daily special they had that was supposed to be a Chicken Benedict with biscuit and gravy. I asked to pass on the gravy and roll my chicken in Buffalo sauce, which they did and it was soooo good!!
Update: Chicken Parmesan is on the new menu – really good!

This meat skillet isn’t your traditional setup where all the fillings are folded inside the eggs — instead, the hearty mix of potatoes, ham, bacon, and sausage is layered underneath, while the eggs are laid flat right on top like a cozy blanket. At first glance, it caught me off guard, but one bite in and it completely worked. The flavors still blend beautifully, with the crispiness of the potatoes and the richness of the meats adding a lot of depth. The eggs were cooked just right — soft, not runny, with a nice peppery touch. And let’s talk about that biscuit… soft, fluffy, and buttery, practically melting in your mouth. It might’ve only needed a pinch more seasoning throughout to really bring everything to life, but even without it, the dish was still delicious. This is definitely one of those comfort meals that hits just right.
