Coal-fired brick oven pizza 121 Main St. New Paltz NY 845-419-2744 …

Review of Apizza in New Paltz, NY, with coal-fired oven and high …

New Haven Apizza is second to none. Coal-fired pies with thin crust, tangy sauce, a crunchy/chewy outer crust. And that is char, it’s not burnt.

The pizza is absolutely phenomenal; crunchy crust, perfect ratio of sauce and cheese, and the smoky, wood-fired flavor is delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quite pleasant as well and the people who work there are friendly. One of the best pies I’ve ever had. *chefs kiss*

No matter how much I ate, I wasn’t able to fill the God-sized hole inside me. But that’s not Apizza!’s problem. The wait was long but well worth it. Homemade croutons in the cesarean salads were a nice touch (vegan dressing option available!). The arancini were crispy on the outside and filled with gooey cheese inside, yum. I loved the spaghetti and meatballs. Perfect al dente, great gravy, well balanced, perfect portions. Great experience overall, just make sure to call ahead if you wanna sit down inside and eat. Abbondanza!

Just had the best coal-fired pizza I’ve ever tasted — perfectly crisp crust, smoky flavor, and fresh, balanced toppings that make every bite unforgettable. The place itself is absolutely charming, with a cozy atmosphere and a classic, old-school vibe that makes you want to stay a while. Can’t wait to go back!

Service not great , however it’s mainly because there was only 1 server. She tried her hardest but she felt overwhelmed I could tell. I was mentioned this place was over priced. Once I got Bill paid 34 for something similar portioned in other spots so I agree its overpriced . Here you truly pay for experience if there is a liking for watching dough stretching in this glassed arena behind you but could use more staff especiallyit being Sunday. I did have my calzone soggy from bottom. Overall it was better then expected I but I do prefer other spots lots more.

Such a delicious meal!! The chefs/owners were so kind and gave us a tour of the pizza oven. Both of them have cooked every pizza since opening! The service was great. The pizza was so so good, can’t wait to come back

Ate here on May 25.
Service was good and friendly. Me and a friend were sat in 5 minutes. Orders were taken soon after.
The bread they served us was really good, and paired with the olive oil – divine. I know they occasionally sell loaves here and that’s super tempting
I got the 12 inch pizza with Italian sausage and roasted red pepper. And it was fine. Took around 25 minutes for our pizzas to arrive. Even amount of sauce and cheese. I had to deduct a star because the topping prices are kind of ridiculous. Some of the prices are also on the higher end including their desserts.
I do want to try their other dishes in the future.
I highly recommend getting there before dinner rush for prompt service.

Such a cute pizza place! When you first walk in, the smell of deliciousness greet you! You choose the toppings that you like and the size, and they make it for you! We got prosciutto, arugula, hot honey pizza with red sauce! They have many great topping selections to experiment!

Apizza is quickly becoming my go-to when it comes to dining out. The staff is always pleasant and the food is delicious. Portion size is pretty large, so there are usually leftovers! Really appreciate their vegan options and their ability to make a massive vegan calzone. And don’t sleep on the Cesar salad…it is the best! Yay Apizza!

Initially thought this was going to be the typical sit down pizza joint, but would consider it more like a casual Italian restaurant. Excellent…crisp pies, large portions, great cocktails. Some of the menu options are cooked in the coal oven. Pizza crust has a nice chew and char. Choose your toppings wisely because it could make the pie watery, otherwise fantastic place.

Simply the best pizza I have had in the Hudson Valley and even in NY. I can’t comment on the food because we only had the house salad(delicious) and a pizza.
I am a self proclaimed pizza snob. I want a thin, stiff crust with no flop, just the right amount of mozzarella judiciously applied and a delicious red sauce. I also want just the right amount of char. In other words, New Haven style but with a cooked sauce I detect that the red sauce on this pizza was not raw from can but slightly cooked so it still had a great fresh taste.
The atmosphere is hectic and tables are crowded together, because the pizza is so good.
They need to expand!
