Location is convenient with free parking! Service was great – they were attentive, warm and knowledgeable by sharing how a dish a done and what its made of.
We sat at the corner table with a couch which provided a quiet space for us to talk with a nice view of the street overlooking Libis.
We ordered Coq Au Vin and their Double Patty Angus Burger. Both dishes were good but I particularly liked the Coq Au Vin- soft and tender chicken with the braised red wine sauce. The burger can be improved like it would be good to add some dressing in the bun and cheese to complement the Angus patty. Their fries, it was okay. Looks like it came from the freezer but nonetheless, the
patties were flavorful.
Vibes of the place, service, and food were 5/5.
Ordered Pasta Bolognaise and Quattro Formaggi Grilled Cheese Sandwich, both were rich in flavor and they were generous enough with the angus beef in the pasta.
Definitely a nice place to chill or hangout with a friend! Parking is not a problem.
The chocolate croissant was superb. It was flaky and buttery. For only 125 pesos, this was great value. As you can see from the pictures, the exterior falls apart but the taste and texture is still superb compared to most croissants in the metro.
The dirty chai latte was great as well. You can distinguish the flavor from a good espresso shot. There’s also a delicate balance of spiciness and sweetness. The drink was 230 pesos. A bit pricey; almost same price to the Starbucks here in the Philippines.
The side of fries were delicious (shared multiple servings of it, definitely recommend) Green noodle dish tasted amazing although texture went straight to mushy once the sauce cooled. The duck sausages weren’t our thing.
I ordered their Potato and Leek Soup, the Halibut Fish and Chips, and the Steak au Poivre & Frites.
The soup was delicious! It certainly made me eager for the next dishes.
The Fish and Chips were good. They used vodka in the batter instead of beer. The crust was crunchy, nicely seasoned, and the fish flaky. The tartar sauce could be more generous, and the fries could use some salt.
Their steak was 200 grams of strip loin. The steak was cooked to my instruction of medium rare and was quite juicy when I was cutting into it. The steak came with a black pepper sauce that I found slightly bitter. The steak itself would have been perfect; but there was also a bitterness in the charring that I found a bit too much.
The staff was pleasant, and overall, I had a very good meal.
It is to be noted, however, that the bistro has no restroom for the customers. You need to go down the building one level to get to the public restrooms.
On my subsequent visit, I had the buttered French Horn Mushrooms, and their Pasta Carbonara. The mushroom was nicely sautéed. Their Pasta Carbonara was not a traditional Italian recipe; but it was delicious, and the portion was just right.
