Last minute reservation at AperiBar a few weeks ago, and we were wonderfully surprised. It’s a bizarre space that honestly leaves something to be desired, but the food and service more than make up for it! We started with the whipped ricotta and arancini followed by the squash and kale salad. We each had a delicious pasta as well. Everything was delicious. The wine by the glass menu was perhaps the biggest letdown and took several attempts to find one that was to our taste. I would definitely recommend and would go back.

I never write reviews, but I’ll be honest this place caught me by surprise. For the price and service, you’re getting well over your moneys worth. Not to mention the food is absolutely delicious. Me and my partner got an order of the spaghetti and steak. We were full and still double ordered because of how delicious the meal was. Thankyou for making such a memorable evening possible during the busy holiday season.

Ps. Timothy is the boy nonchalant grade A service

We didn’t have a reservation, however we were able to be seated quickly and the service from the entire staff was top notch. Ben was our server and was attentive, knowledgeable and professional.

The food was prepared perfectly.

AperiBar had a cozy dining area, a lively bar and I will definately return for drinks in the future.

Ben was our waiter and he was very friendly and attentive — my glass was always full, which I greatly appreciate. Also loved his recommendation on the linguine, it was amazing! Highly recommend and would love to come back again!

Very welcoming from the beginning. Asked right away if we had plans for a show to be sure we would get out on time, which we had plenty of time. Took time helping us pick the right wine with dinner, having us try a few first. We went there for my husband to have a favorite Italian dish. I do not eat dairy, but they were so accommodating and adjusted a menu item for me, and it was delicious! Very impressed with the service.

Our pastas were very good (spaghetti al limone and rigatoni bolognese) – I thought my rigatoni was a little al dente, but the serving portion and sauce were fine. The desserts (gianduja and flourless chocolate cake) were excellent. Our server, McAllister, was consistently friendly and attentive.

Met family after a broadway show. They accommodated 10 adults and 2 young children. We were tucked away in the back which was like having a semi private room. I was able to hear everyone which was so pleasant.
Our server was awesome. He was attentive and answered our questions about quantity and recommendations.
I didn’t try all the dishes but it seemed most enjoyed their meal. I LOVED the Cesar salad with actual anchovies. Well balanced and fresh. Unfortunately the steak I ordered was too salty and slightly overcooked for me. I asked for medium rare and it was medium. I could have sent it back but didn’t because it was fine for others. I tend to be sensitive to salt. I’m sure if I said anything they would have made it right.
I would go back. My party also shared they would go back.

Food quality was quite good. It’s well-prepared with subtle creative twists. The atmosphere is nice without being stuffy. The lighting was great. The service was unpretentious and the pacing relaxed. Our waiter, McAllister, was really nice and accommodating. We’ll return next time we’re in NYC!

We popped in from Time Square – and this place, honestly…it felt like we were cheating 🙂

A rare New York paradox: authentic Italian food that didn’t require a Broadway budget. Do yourself a favor and order the Skillet Pollo —> when the waiter brought it to me, he affirmed the selection, saying “prepare to be amazed!”

It wasn’t shy, a double stack of chicken on a throne of creamy farro that couldn’t prevent my friends from reaching across the table. The dish practically demanded to be shared! The bacon cameo caught me by surprise, sitting delightfully atop the chicken breast, initially fooling me as a thin slice of tomato.

The portions weren’t short on the protein, and the drinks were poured generously! We didn’t sit at a traditional table (like most customers) but Katie turned the bar into a living room…and the tall boys into recliners. We had paid our bill and prepared for departure, but the friendly ambiance compelled us to stay a bit longer and have a final round thanks to Katie’s hospitality.

For a city that never sleeps, this crew won’t sleep on hospitality. My phone died and they set up a charger on the outlet so that I could navigate my way home, and they assured us that our comfort and convenience was their expectation and nightly rhythm.

A round trip flight to the homeland is expensive and a visit to cinque terra ain’t cheap — so treat yourself to “La Dolce Vida” in high definition —-> it’ll be an Italian detour without the airfare. A meal here can help you embrace a trip to the Big Apple without feeling like a tourist 🙂

Buon appetito!
