Had an amazing experience for the joint celebration of my mom and I’s birthday. Our chef was fun and put on a great show. The overall ambiance of this place is friendly, enjoyable and you actually can have a conversation with your table without screaming over music ++++ great food and desserts! We enjoyed the matcha creme brulee for our dessert (pictured). Everything was delicious and we all had a great time ! Will definitely be coming back 🙂

I enjoyed Aoki Teppanyaki.
It’s not the best restaurant I’ve been to, but it’s not the worst either.
They had a great selection of Happy Hour drinks and Happy Hour sushi rolls. (See pictures below)
The service was good and the restaurant look was cute.
It was definitely a solid spot, but didn’t stand out to me in anyway. Positively or negatively.

I like to go to Aoki for the chirashi donburi which is super good. This time I wanted to treat me the omakase menu … I wish I didn’t.
I had to wait over 20’ to receive an overgrown handroll, then 40’ later a mini poke, 2 tiny sashimis 5’ afterwards, then 2 tiny rolls 6’ later and it took 90 minutes for the girl to make them …they offered me a dessert to compensate for the wait, nice gesture.
The waiter did the max but the sushi person (not a chef) was overloaded and we were only 3 clients around the bar.
I will comeback for the donburi BUT not for the omakase which has nothing to do with an omakase menu, very expensive for the little food received. Very disappointed and I feel robbed.

Located within the Dadeland Mall, this Japanese restaurant offers standard Japanese fair at a slightly higher price. Sushi or meals can be ordered at the table or a hibachi grill. The sushi is reasonable size but I recommend sharing with someone so you can order different kinds and have some of each. The dinners (not hibachi) “from the kitchen” are smaller and come with white rice and a small order of veggies. The teriyaki salmon was flavorful, but the white rice was just standard. The spare ribs are a fair portion and pretty good. The wings are on the hotter side so unless you like “hot”, be prepared. The berry lemonade is too sweet and slightly sour. Service is slow and they are quick to drop off and move. Overall if you are looking for slightly smaller portions than a hibachi restaurant, the food is pretty good and worth a second try.

I don’t understand why this restaurant has a 3.9. I caught happy hour just before 8:00 p.m. They have a fabulous happy hour menu. I ordered tuna tataki, salmon rolls and their wings, everything was delicious. I sat in the back bar where it was quiet and comfortable and Rudy was amazing.

My sister and I chose this place based on a review that they were able to accomodate gluten allergies. With that said, I figured that my choices would be limited. However, when we spoke to Rudy (bartender and server) about the GF options, he assured me that he would speak to the chef and see what they could arrange. I appreciated how kind and patient he was with us. Somehow, they were able to make every happy hour item we chose gluten-free. Every item was delicious and fresh. The sushi was served with GF soy sauce! It’s worth checking out if you’re gluten sensitive and/or allergic. They don’t have a designated fryer, so that is worth noting. My allergy isn’t impacted by that (and we didn’t really order deep fried items) but I know some can be. Definitely get their home-made ginger ale, it’s so good!

Our waitress was very nice, then she disappeared! The “waiter” assigned said she was on a break. The fish was frozen at least TWO TIMES. AT LEAST. I left half of it on the plate. They gave me a 20% discount, so it was $ 44.00 instead of $ 55.00 FOR UNFRESH FOOD. STILL OVER $ 210.OO for CRAPPY FOOD AND TERRIBLE SERVICE. NOT EVER GOING BACK THERE. SO MR OWNER SAVE YOUR BS FOR SOMEBODY ELSE. Btw, this was my third time here, the two before were great. ALSO, THE BLACK LATEX GLOVES THE SERVICE PEOPLE WEAR, REMIND ME OG GARBAGE COLLECTORS, NOT FOOD HANDLING PEOPLE. BESIDES, THEY ARE CONTAMINATING INSTRUMENTS.

I visited Aoki for my aunt’s birthday dinner. At first impression the restaurant looked nice and inviting, but I kept my skepticism, as anyone rightly should in the competitive upscale dining market of Miami. I ordered the steak shrimp hibachi dinner combo and a couple of sakes which came out to about $90. Everything was delicious. Standouts were the steak and veggies. The fried rice could have been a little better. The cooks are friendly, some more engaging than others. Clean bathroom and clean aesthetic all around. Overall, a great experience but no strong feelings either way. Nothing hooked me and it was fine for a birthday dinner to try out. I would consider returning and suggesting to others.

I ordered the wagyu sliders and they came burnt!!! They look like the sliders from highschool. Completely disrespectful. And the sushi was terrible quality. And please don’t even think about getting the wings. So beyond disappointed. Too overpriced for the quality of the food here.
