Went for my wife’s birthday celebration, hadn’t been before. Got there for a fairly early reservation and was seated shortly thereafter. Started with some small snacks courtesy of the house (crackers and cheese), tasty. The Mrs. had a Martini, I had a craft beer. The Mrs. had a winter green salad, I had the French onion soup. She loved her salad and my soup was very good and VERY hot, with it’s puff pastry top. Next we shared an order of calamari, this had a nice bit of crust, but not too much. The Mrs. Had the chateaubriand and I had the beef wellington. Both were fantastic! Lastly, we shared a serving of tiramisu cheesecake, which was also excellent! Wait staff was attentive, but not overbearing. Several of the staff took turns with different parts of the serving. Not cheap but excellent and would return.

I give out a lot of good reviews. If the food, atmosphere and service are all good, then why not.

Then there’s Anya. This is amazing. If there were room for 6 stars, they would get it. Food was incredible. Wait staff is well trained and not only friendly, but not intrusive, and they even wear uniforms. And the atmosphere, well, hard to beat. It was quiet and easy to enjoy!

A visit to Anya is always a special dining experience. Whether celebrating an anniversary or birthday, a romantic date night, or taking advantage of their occasional Prix Fixe menu Anya delights and delivers.
Set in the rolling hills of the quiet corner the outdoor dining patio is magnificent. Walk through the doors and into the well appointed dinning area and eat in bar and your enter a space that is at home in northeastern Connecticut as it might be if it were in New York, LA, or Chicago.
The seasonal menu offers up many options. We’ve visited three times and have always been delighted by the culinary delights and attentive staff.
Anya has a full bar, several craft beers, and a great wine list with plenty to choose from.
It is worth noting that the staff are truly welcoming. We took my parents there for their anniversary recently. Mom was worried that she was just “simple country folk” and they’d feel out of place. Nothing could be further from the truth!
The appetizers are generous, the entrees are delicious and plates with an artistic flair, and the desserts…. Save room for the desserts!
There is plenty of parking, reservations are recommended.

Love this place! Definitely fine dining in a relaxing ” casual” atmosphere. Beautiful space.
This was our second experience here within a few months. Haven’t had a dining experience in this caliber in a very long time.
We really enjoyed the thought and preparation that goes into all these dishes and ingredients. Truly a tasteful delight. The chef definitely has a great palate and vision.
Our first dining experience was just Truly magnificent, from the food, atmosphere and our server ( she was extremely tentative and bubbly). We both had the beef wellington, which was fantastic. Desserts were also delicious. We definitely couldn’t wait to return.

This past weekend experience was to celebrate a daughters birthday. She also appreciates a good dining experience.
Was definitely much busier than our first dine in, but it didn’t impact the quality or care into the dishes. Slightly longer wait time, but we were enjoying togetherness in a beautiful atmosphere. All appetizers were fantastic. Tuna, oysters on half shell, carrot ginger soup, and brie tart…
Mains were also fabulous… beef wellington, chateaubriand, rack of lamb and the Pace special… All cooked perfectly, lamb was scrumptious, and the Pace was delicately delicious. Beef wellington was consistent as the last dining experience.. and my dish was excellent as well ( given the fine dining element, I understand but expected the chateaubriand to have more peices given its usually a loin or double loin traditionally) was delicious non the less…
Desserts were tasty. The chocolate mousse was light and airy, yet thick and velvety, chocolate ganache cake was good, and hubby’s orange creme brulee was perfect.

Definitely a wonderful dining experience. Great for any type of celebration.

The only minor inconvenience we experienced was our server this time. He was pleasant enough and professional but was scarcely attentive. Didn’t see him for most of the appetizers or main course( not a check-in either). Another team member got us coffee, etc, when he returned to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee ( which clearly was already served and on the table aready.
We were thankful for all the other servers and wait staff who worked as wonderful team. They checked in, cleared table/ plates, refilled water, packed leftovers, brought coffee…
Still didn’t dissuade us from enjoying the meal. Definitely looking forward to another great dining experience in the future. I’d just possibly ask for our first server when making our next reservation.

I come here once or twice a year, usually around Christmas. This is not dinner, it’s an experience. From the food, to the service, to the atmosphere, every little detail is covered. My daughter got the kids menu, which was delivered with a Beauty and the Beast coloring sheet and enchanted rose. They literally nail the entire dinner with 5 star service. Phenomenal food and drinks, thank you as always.

My wife is still crying about the clam chowder saying it’s the best she’s ever had. Didn’t ask if I wanted to try it lol. I had the ravioli. The food is outstanding. The atmosphere is outstanding. This is a high end restaurant. Be prepared to pay top dollar. Worth it though for special occasions.

Well well, how should I started, I did not have idea that were stopping on this type of restaurant, we’re not from the area…

Since you arrive, the outside looks pretty nice, I did not take photos of inside but place is beautiful and really elegant – BTW good place for an event as wedding or business event.

The food is other level, menu was so great that we took the decision to share order and split to taste all the flavors.

Everything that we ordered is amazing!, and the service too, I do recommend this place 100%.

Dinner at Anya in Thompson, CT & once again reminded why this spot keeps pulling us back. We grabbed seats at the bar with Olivia behind it as server, bartender & overall pro, which instantly set the pace for the night. We ordered from the winter prix fixe menu, offered every Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday for $38, & started with a little gem Caesar that was crisp & balanced & a French onion soup that hit all the cozy, savory notes. For mains, the pasta bolognese brought classic comfort while the beef tenderloin tips were tender, rich & gone way too fast. Finished with a crème brûlée that had the perfect crack & silky center. Solid menu, great energy & a bar seat that never disappoints. Thompson continues to show up. ️

This is a restaurant where I usually go for special celebrations as it is a bit pricier than we spend on an “everyday meal”.
I chose Anya for my birthday. We sat at the bar as we like the atmosphere. They have a great sound system and the music choice is usually good.
Last night was not busy, with only 5 other patrons, yet the service was lacking. We had to push our appetizer plates aside as we were finished for awhile, our credit card was on the bar for awhile, and even so, had to ask for our check and ask for her to run the card. She thought we were waiting for our dessert to go. Which, when I asked what would she suggest for a birthday dessert, she did offer a suggestion, but totally missed the opportunity to say something nice about the occasion.
The foccaccia for an app, Chateaubriand for dinner, and Chocolate cake was simply amazing. Congratulations to the kitchen!!
We will be back and hope that the service improves!

My husband and I went to Anya restaurant in Thompson CT tonight for our 35th anniversary. We chose a Sunday for dinner. Anya is a very popular restaurant in the eastern part of CT and is quite busy on Saturdays, so we wisely chose Sunday evening for a more intimate/romantic experience. From appetizers to desserts, this restaurant exceeded all our expectations! We especially enjoyed our delicious appetizers of Oysters Rockefeller and lobster Rangoon, as well as their delicate and tasteful French Kiss cocktail!!! We moved on to entrees of Duck A L’Orange and Beef Wellington before taking a break to appreciate the beautiful and tasteful surroundings of this restaurant. The place is perfect for special events, romantic evenings or just apps by their gorgeous bar. However, when you go out to dine for a special evening, the most important experience is often controlled by the front of the house (Kara), the wait staff (Elizabeth) and most importantly, an experienced chef named Kyle, who very graciously came to our table. Without those three professionals, our night would never have been so special. We will be back to Anya in the future because the drive is worth the culinary experience, not to mention the romantic atmosphere, music and the diverse menu choices which offer more than restaurants we typically frequent in Glastonbury and West Hartford that are closer to home. Looking forward to experiencing Anya in the summertime when their outdoor dining is available. This place is (as CT Magazine voted) the most romantic; however, it offers dining for everyone and is a very special place with a fabulous chef!
