Antunez is a favorite spot of mine in Spearfish. It is a cozy atmosphere with unique dishes for all palates. I have enjoyed every one of the dozens of meals I have had. The ceviche is world class.

If you have not discovered Antunez in Spearfish, put it on your ASAP list of go to dining experiences. Each time I go there the food is outstanding and the service is always friendly. The shrimp ceviche, smoked salmon tostadas, and black bean with sweet potato tacos are my favorites! The guacamole is a must have and save room for the Ancho Chile Crème Brule! Heaven in Spearfish!

As a local this restaurant by far is my favorite to take out of town company to. The food has incredible flavor, the staff is always very friendly, the music playing always makes it feel alive. The carnitas tacos with black beans and rice is my go to dish, but you really can’t go wrong. If you aren’t a cilantro lover not sure if this place is for you. Just ask before ordering if the dish has cilantro. So good!

UPDATE (7/2025): making it into the top 3 tacos of my life! No joke. I’ve been to Mexico, Spain, other Hispanic countries and eaten a lot of tacos – The pork carnitas tacos were unbelievable.
And again, the staff and owners are fantastic, hard working and caring people.

So, now, I eat again, today (7/2024), it’s awesome and the people who work here and own the place rock. I highly recommend the ceviche and tacos of any sort.

Another great meal staff and service last night. Rachel took amazing care of us. The Barramundi was outstanding as was the New York strip. Another bottle of Pirate. The shrimp ceviche was fantastic too! This is a must stop if you are anywhere near Spearfish!!!

By the way Taylor took great care of our group Saturday – The entire staff did as well.
Small place with a small kitchen. This is one of my favorite type of Resturant’s. Leave your cell phones at home. Order a bottle of wine and some amazing appetizers. Enjoy each other’s conversation while you wait for your main course.
No liquor license but they have a great wine list.

Cool little place. Kinda Mexican bistro wine bar vibe. Don’t expect your typical Mexican food. They have several interesting Tacos, great enchiladas and some interesting desserts!! Reasonable portion sizes and prices. Definitely a great stop for foodies.

This is my “go to” in Spearfish, SD. This is definitely not your typical Mexican food. The food has flavors that run from Mexican to Central America into South America. I had, what is called, ‘Burning Mouth syndrome. Molten lava in my mouth for 5 months. Lost my sense of taste. I moved to Spearfish 3 1/2 years ago. At first I tasted by memory. Eating at Antunez, I’ve been able to taste food again. The service is great. So much so, I stop in not just for an onolicious meal but for great conversations with the employees. And! The wine selection is very good.
