Our waitress Lupe was excellent! Of course, the food was really, really good! Be aware, portions are huge. My plate of veggie omelet and country potatoes could easily feed two people. Highly recommend this place!

We arrived at about 11:00am, there as plenty of parking and no wait. The host pointed at a booth for us to sit at. We loved the old school vibe at the Cafe with all the knickknacks. A quiet young man came by to take our drink order.l, I got a coffee and my husband got a coke. Our server was Ramon and he was very funny, friendly and welcoming. I ordered the 3 egg build your own omelet with cheddar, olives, mushrooms, and ham. With my omelet I also received hashbrowns and toast. Everything on my plate was pretty good. I’m always a happy coffee drinker if they have good coffee and decent creamer, which this cafe had both. My husband ordered the French dip with French fries. He said the French dip was pretty tasty and he liked that the au jus wasn’t overly salty and seemed to be made in house; which is a plus. Overall we were happy with our experience and would definitely come back again. We both felt that the food was good but nothing to write home about.

Amazing home make tasting food without having to make it yourself. Very lovely and kind staff. I’m as old as the diner itself and feel like I went back in time. Highly recommend this place for a lovely brunch. If you don’t come say hi to the wonderful staff, you’re missing out. Tell the lovely lady I said Hi.
– Coffee 6/10 (kept hot, taste like regular coffee)
– Sunrise sand which 9.5/10
– Hash browns 7/10 (unsalted, good thing. Salt at your own personal sodium’s needs. I personally have high sodium on a daily so very nice to have a place that doesn’t salt their food like crazy to “enhance” flavor when it’s unnecessary)
– HOMEMADE SALSA {picoso} 7.5/10 (not too spicy of a bite to your tongue and very flavorful topping)

I’ve been coming here every Tuesday for about a month or two now. The food is consistently great and the staff is very friendly. They make you feel welcome, there are a couple of waiters who are jokesters and make the place fun to dine at.
Their Steak and Eggs are great, always cooked well. Their pancakes are really good, the Kielbasa omelet is delicious and I love their biscuits and gravy. The coffee is free refills and is always really good.
Anyone looking for a nice place to sit down and have breakfast should absolutely give this place a shot!

Mom & I stopped in for a quick bite after long day of running errands. Ma had breakfast & I had ‘Island club’ w/ side salad & 1/2 & 1/2 tea (raspberry/unsweetened). Waiter was amazing as always, keeps the humor going with his customers & really excells in service!

Ive lived in El Cajon my whole life and never stopped in here. I came in on a Saturday closer to 12. It was not busy and sat down right away. Immediately got tended to by the sweetest lady. I ordered a pretty standard item off the menu — French toast with sausage and egg. Can never go wrong and it indeed didn’t. Can’t wait to come again and try something new.

Following GPS directions was a little confusing. It is next to a bar, and that is more prominent.
Food and portions were good. Service was exceptional!

Cute decor, fast and fun service (the staff was absolutely hilarious), food is what you’d expect, however they serve “Monterey Potato Cakes” that I have never seen anywhere else that were sooooo good- highly recommend. For your entertainment please enjoy a picture of my third and final refil

It is not deserving of more than 3 stars, very generic. The food was very basic. Pancakes tasted like standard store bought pancake mix, not buttermilk like IHOP or other restaurants. Scrambled eggs were most likely powdered or frozen eggs and tasted the same as military food. For those who don’t know, military food does not taste good. The homestyle potatoes were the highlight of the meal but were cold on arrival. The shredded cheese on top didn’t even melt. This also heavily reminded me of military food. The Denver omellete was also probably powdered or frozen eggs.
This was the definition of an average breakfast and at most 3 stars. The atmosphere was the best part with old lunch boxes and statues, but it was very cluttered with antiques all over the place.
Service was ok. The first waitress was very nice and attentive, but she went on break or something, and the next one wasn’t paying attention and didn’t notice us for over 10 minutes. The cook in the back noticed that we needed assistance before the waitress did and had to tell her.
They do have a military discount, seemed to be 10%. Because there wasn’t an itemized receipt. Honestly, the food tastes like what is served in the military. It would not surprise me to know the cooks are military cooks that did one tour and returned to civilian life. Again, the food quality being compared to the military is not high praise. After 20 years of service, I thoroughly know the food comparison I’m talking about.
Overall, we aren’t going to come back to this location again.
My recommendation:
The Daily Grind Cafe is a much better breakfast restaurant, not far away, with espresso specialty drinks and comparable prices, with better food. The potatoes there are to die for!. No, I am not affiliated with either location, I am just providing my advice on a good breakfast restaurant. Antique Row Cafe needs to up their game.

Good comfort food with friendly service and fun decor! The food was so delicious that we scarfed it down before taking enough pictures. They were busy, but the wait was only 10 minutes. The servers were so so friendly! The veggie burrito and potatoes were perfect.
